South Korean authorities have imposed a travel ban on President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is under investigation for his short-lived martial law declaration last Tuesday.

Yoon narrowly survived an impeachment motionagainst him over the weekend, after MPs from his ruling People Power Party (PPP) boycotted the vote.

PPP members said they had decided not to support the motion after Yoon agreed to shorten his term and not get involved in foreign and domestic affairs.

However, the opposition Democratic Party, which commands a majority in the parliament have criticised the deal, with floor leader Park Chan-dae calling it “an illegal, unconstitutional second insurrection and a second coup”.

Jesus, at this point is when more rational, capable people would resign. If I had one wish it would be that the world leaders would feel the same shame I feel when I accidentally cut someone off while driving. Maybe this world would be a better place.

Also why is resignation always their way out of punishment? Like “don’t worry they quit” doesn’t really address the fact thay they did some heinous shit.

The Defense Minister has already been arrested, and the military is saying they were specifically ordered to block the parliament from operating.

It’s just the opposition forced their way around the military cordon and dared the military to shoot them is the only reason the martial law order got lifted.
