News@lemmy.world•Republican Senator tells House not to vote on bill she just voted forEnglish
32·10 months agoWhile I understand you may have meant that as a figure of speech, I also don’t want to shrug what you typed off either. Politics can be very stressful, and the challenges in our life can feel completely overwhelming at times. If you are truly feeling hopeless, please reach out for help. If you’re in the US you can call 988. If you’re elsewhere please reach out to a friend, emergency services, or even a stranger. The world is a better place with you than without you.

22·2 years agoThanks for the reply, sounds compelling. I’m running peanut currently and have been happy with it, but I might power out down and give this a spin. Low resource usage sounds like a nice selling point.
Thanks for your contribution!

I run phogiftreg, it works really well overall but feels really dated. Development isn’t very active, and I wish it was docker.

51·2 years agoFair point. I rolled the dice and have been happy with this one, but you’re right on both accounts. StarTech is a trusted brand and $20 is pretty affordable.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Looking for the Perfect USB Flash DriveEnglish
51·2 years agoDon’t pay almost $20 for just a cable, pay $3 for this. it’s an enclosure you can put your 2.5in sata drive in to connect it with usb3. I have several, work like a charm https://a.co/d/8Z2VPso
If you deployed with docker composr you just change the image and hit redeploy. Super simple.
Why not switch your registration to cloudflare. They are awesome as long as you want to use their DNS.

I too would like to know the difference between the two.
I switched all my donations to cloudflare. Tried out pork bun and did like it but cloudflare is so good. I do hate in principal that they force you to use their dns, but in practice I want to use them for DNS anyhow. Their ZeroTrust tunnel is pretty slick too.

I think regardless of whether we have a white list, black-list or both there will be sources that fall in the grey. Here’s an example. Imagine a school shooting in XYZ Community. Perhaps the local community newspaper provides a very detailed and credible article - the site is small enough it is unlikely to be on either a white list or a black list but it could still be a good contribution to the site. I providing examples of sources that are broadly accepted or not accepted is useful, but at the end of the day I think much of it falls to moderator discretion.
Kivita . I never even tried booklore because I enjoyed Kivita to much
The demo on their page is a little messed up so don’t let that discourage you. Is an easy install and a great app, I use it with Moon Reader Pro (Android)
