The entire issue with “the middle ground” is that it’s based in relativistic politics which is a complete non-stater since their goal is specifically to not to commit enough to any action such that it actually succeeds. There’re no thoughts behind those eyes, just a weird and bad compromise because they don’t understand anything and are just barely good enough people to not go 100% into hating minorities.

  • Dude even Gortash/Orin/Ketheric are all at odds with eachother and they have a very clear, shared goal in mind. Your evil character is just a crazy person who wants a bunch of power for themselves without even having the dead three as a common connection to the other characters so yea, it’s gunna be real fuckin’ hard to make friends. For sure you’re gunna have people with you who you simply had to buy out and with whom you can’t build meaningful relationships.

I could see maybe an ending where you force the three chief assholes to work together but to help you undo their mess. It would be a lot of work for something not many would even bother with and I’m doubtful you’d get them as companions or be able to have a meaningful relationship with them in such a short time.

Anyway, the game isn’t pigeonholing you so much as reality is. Being self-centered is an inherently dead-end way to live in so many ways and the loss of friends and intimacy is a big part of that.

  • “Some” of its people? My friend, going by your quote that only speaks to how low the bar is that a majority of the people who voted in the last US election, tens upon tens of millions of people, happily voted for Donald fucking Trump. The bar is on the floor and the country can barely roll half its population over it with only a handful of people being halfway decent enough to show the world that that shithole isn’t a total write-off. That said, it’s not the rest of the world’s job to fix it for you or let this bad behaviour slide which I see being pushed for all too often.

I literally do not give a shit about “it doesn’t represent us as a whole”. Guess what, it actually 100% does. That’s how it works, and all the power in the US is concentrated in many of the worst people imaginable. You had several opprtunities in even the last decade to turn shit around and still failed spectacularly. Put on your big kid pants and do something about it or sit in the consequences of your actions and do nothing but do not try to make excuses.

  • He’s telling the governor that he’s insane for saying he’s not afraid and for putting a strong front up? Trump is a bully who preys on people who are scared of him and is a total coward when they stand up for themselves. Saying he’s not afraid is the same as saying “try me” and Trump routinely crumples under even that pressure. How on EARTH are ya’ll missing that at this stage of the game?

This guy talking about Biden not straight-up arresting guy(and what a precedent that would have set!) over some border regulations isn’t really relevant. It’s not news, it’s not even worth mentioning for a moment because of fucking course it didn’t happen. Should Democrats have pinned Abbot to the wall and made him answer for all his bullshit? Yea! Should they have fully arrested him? Sure, if they wanted to normalize what’s happening now to this guy.

We already know that this current admin is extremely aggressive, if you haven’t figured that out yet and find this comment to be something special then holy fuck you’re more screwed than I ever could have imagined. But then, every week I see new people from the US only now cluing into the dumpster fire that is that shithole country and acting as if they aren’t about four decades late to figuring it out. And if you think the Wisconsin governor should be crying for his mother between bouts of pissing his pants then I’ve wasted my time writing this because you’re so far beyond it.

Maybe that was my problem, even acounting for the vast stupidity of the American people I still gave ya’ll far too much credit and assumed there was maybe some kind of point to made.

  • Democratic governor said he’s not afraid. OP said “not afraid? It’s insane!” but then immediately gave an example of how a democrat admin responded to a republican, and the example sets the precedent that there’s nothing to worry about. It doesn’t add anything to the conversation, it doesn’t even try to point out some reason that the GOP would want to get revenge. Are you US morons so deeply fucked that you think that Biden should have been arresting these people instead of, I dunno, at least a trial? Your standards are as worthless as your country.

Ya’ll, if you can’t put that together then there’s nothing else I can do so, have a miserable day, I guess.

  • I think the worst part of these high salaries is that at a certain amount of money you start paying off even big stuff pretty quickly. Working class people are so used to the idea that they will always have a rent payment or will, as far as it matters, always have a mortgage payment and/or car payment floating around. The ultra wealthy pay all that shit off right away and then continue having these sky-high yearly incomes.

His pay got cut in half, sure, but his life didn’t even need to change at all. They cut his salary in half and he didn’t even feel it.

  • Lol bro what are you talking about? Given that there are few-to-no anti-2a people who feverishly vote far-right I think we can confidently say that they are not helping fascists into power. Unless, of course, we’re saying that gun owners getting butthurt and single-issuing their vote in order to keep their hobby is somehow their fault. Far too many gun owners put their firearms above their fellow countryman and it’s just embarrassing.

“Take my guns away?! Well how about THIS!” followed by “they made me do it” is so weak. Try again.

Context: I love guns as a hobby, even had a restricted license(could also own handguns in Canada) for a bit myself and days on the range were really fun. They’re 100% for fun, and if that fun comes at the cost of putting millions of basically unaccounted for firearms into circulation then it’s not fucking worth it.

  • Was he ever? Really his only thing was being a nerd, and we thought he was at least vaguely cool for the whole fast electric vehicle thing, but it took barely any time for it to come out that actually he’s both bad at being a nerd and a huge liar about how involved he really was with Tesla. He’s been poison for soooo long now, I literally have no idea how anyone falls for it these days.

It’s not skill, there are just that many people who are that stupid.

What? No, I consider the cost of actually doing the work to be insane. If you want to talk training we can get into all kinds of other wonderful ethical, legal, and climate related shit, and I said that the cost of training for something like drawn art is exceedingly low as pencils and paper are cheap and all you need after that is a flat surface and time. I’m glad you enjoyed the comic but the cost to make it was far too great and you need to understand that sometimes that’s a dealbreaker.

Have you ever built anything with your own two hands, or made a piece of art, or played a fun or beautiful piece of music purely for the enjoyment of it? And, separate from that, if you have, you’ve really never wanted to share it with the world? I go to the bar because I enjoy it, I make friends there, and we can all participate in a shared passion. The patrons of the bar also do appreciate that we are real people. We aren’t perfect, we forget the words sometimes, and our instrument balance can be wonky at times but they enjoy the fact that we are up there. Live music is objectively “worse” quality than something made in a studio but we love it because of the distinctly human connection with the performers and the audience. When my friend tears up a sick Irish fiddle solo I turn to who I’m sitting with and we all talk about how skilled she is and how much effort she’s put into honing her craft. When musicians talk about other musicians so much of it is about appreciating how much time and effort they put in to get to where they are.

And yes, sometimes an artist does something that they don’t love. Artists, both the casual amateur and career professional, have accepted that fact as part of the greater process.

I cannot stress how important it is that you go make something, and that you bring people into your life who appreciate the work you put in instead of just judging the end product. There’s a bright, colourful world out there and I’m genuinely worried that you’re letting it pass you by or, worse still, that the people around you are keeping you from it.
