My grandmother did the same thing with potatoes. She accidentally managed to somehow order 220 baking potatoes, for some reason no one at Sainsbury’s thought that that was an odd thing to want and didn’t question the order and just went ahead and fulfilled it.
When life gives you carrots,

I did something similar with bananas from Fred Meyer when they changed the units for orders from ‘banana’ to ‘bunch’.
Had this happen with big bags of ricola cough drops a ski lodge was giving out for free, my family had enough cough drops for like 15 years
I would like to see how stressed they are after hauling 40 kg of carrots around
I prolly would have asked at the next zoo or farm whether they want free carrots lol
This once happened to me with Kroger and limes
They subbed 6 limes for 6 bags of limes

As a citrus enjoyer I was not at all stressed though. I’d legit eat a lime straight.
Limes and lemons freeze very well.
Hey free food is free food. Just remember that limes aren’t good enough to cure or prevent scurvy.
Oh yeah, well I’d eat a lime gay, so HAH!
Wasted away again in margaritaville…
Lime-aid is the obvious answer
Life gave them limes not lemons, bffr 🙄
/s
Lime aid is delicious
Life could make itself useful and give us a bit of mint and rum then as well
I’ve been wanting to switch out the buckwheat husk filling in my pillow. So I ordered £14 of the stuff…turns out that I now am in possession of enough buckwheat husk to be a heirloom for my descendants to last to the heat death of the universe…

That image needs a trigger warning, my cat just ran off to hide
The carrier is there because our cat’s been deathly ill. Last few months he’s been going off food, obviously hungry because he comes and yells at us for the 45mins before supper time, just won’t eat. Took him to the vet, nothing seemed wrong with his teeth or tummy. Then my wife said she’d noticed his breathing was quite laboured. They pulled 300ml of fluid from his chest cavity. The possible causes were heart failure, kidney/liver failure, something about proteins 🤷🏾♂️ or cancer.
All his bloods came back in the green. Two ultrasounds showed a bit of something in the chest. So CT scan.Turns out all they can find is a bit of arthritis starting in his spine, but no cause of the fluid. So wee man got shoved in the carrier three days on the bounce, £3500 if I didn’t have insurance for him.
Sorry for triggering your fur baby.
Aw no I didn’t expect sad kitty stories. Hope he doesn’t have to go back! Here’s mine pretending she’s not scared of the box

He’ll have to go back in a few weeks to see if the meds are working to keep the fluid out of his chest. But other than that he’s not going in the carrier for a while if we can help it.

Hey if the carrier is traumatizing for the cat, and you have a car, I’ve had much better experience, just putting the cat in the car and carrying it into the vet wrapped in its favorite blanket.
That’d be a great idea for anyone who has a cat they can pick up. Jin is so skittish that he’ll scratch and bite if you try to pick him up. He’s usually a really gentle boy, enjoys a cuddle, just had a traumatic kittenhood and gets freaked out by being picked up. I had him for 4 years before he’d let me touch him with both hands at the same time.
They basically sent you an even bigger buckwheat pillow. You could use it as a buckwheat mattress.
I’d have to make a new case for it, it’s that scratchy plastic.
So you’re gonna reupholster all your furniture now right
Fill some couch cushions with it! I love buckwheat filling
TIL about buckwheat husk filling in pillows.
Some traditional Japanese pillows use(d) them, which is where I first learned of them. They’re also great because you can remove or add more hulls based on how thick or malleable you want the pillow to be. Highly recommend them.
It’s common in traditional meditation cushions. It gives you a firm seat while still conforming nicely. There’s nothing else like it, honestly.
I really like it, stays cooler longer, is firm but also conforms to the shape of your head and neck a bit
What normal pillow filling texture would it compare to?
Imagine the conformity of memory foam with the firmness of dry rice, and you’re in the ballpark. There’s not really a 1:1 comparison.
It might sound weird but it is super comfortable. It needs to be pretty full though, if it’s under-stuffed then it just lacks the support.
Beanbag chair…ish. it’s not really close to anything else. In fact I think some beanbag chairs are filled with buckwheat husks.
I just had the exact opposite problem. Ordered 2, 5lb bags of potatoes. They tried to give me 2 individual ones.
As long as both potatoes are 5lbs, I don’t see the problem!
Those would be some bigass potatoes.
Idaho is path to abilities some would consider… Unnatural.
Those would be some big ass-potatoes
Whelp… There goes my comment
My gf ordered a bunch of bananas… They gave her 1 banana… I then tried to do a Gwen Stefanie impression singing “this shit is bananas” I was told that was I was being immature though
You should have apologized and started singing “This shit is banana.”
B A N A N A …
I would fucking raise hell, like GIVE ME THE POTATOES I FUCKING PAID FOR OR I WILL MAKE YOU PAY DEARLY FOR YOUR MISTAKE.
If life gives you carrots, make carronade! 🥕
If life gives you carrots, make Gajar ka halwa
Wait… Who has a apartment building group chat? Am I missing out or that just weird?
We had one in the first building I lived in the UK, it was handy for gossip lol (“what was that screaming last night on the top floor?”). The address was posted on the entrance hall cork board. Ever since I moved from there, I wished that my subsequent buildings/neighbourhoods also had one, but even if one exists, it’s deathly silent for months at a time :/
The screaming reminded me of one time I was walking my dog around the apartment complex at like 10pm. As I walked by the one building I heard some woman scream from the third floor “oh yeah fuck my pussy papi” at the top of her lungs. I have no idea who screamed or who lived there but I guess she was having a good time.
Be the change you want.
I think it’s somewhat common, especially for smaller buildings. Mine has one. It’s optional to be part of it, but pretty useful.
Interesting, none of the apartments I lived in had one
I don’t know why but lots of people around eastern europe have that either in Viber or WhatsApp, and nothing else. That’s where the HOA lead, uhm, does stuff… IDK, I am in a private home.
Maybe it’s a Europe thing, never seen it in America
Nextdoor kinda fills that role.
That guy: “What’s up, Doc? I’ll tell you what’s up. My blood pressure!”
You’d think carrots would help with your blood pressure.
Not when they are coming out of your ass
