I think it makes a pretty satisfying sound. When you first drop it on the ground it makes a gentle, “clink” sound. When you sit on it it kinda rustles a little.
Then it doesn’t really make much noise when you shift around, unless you rearrange the pillow significantly. Once it conforms to your seat it kinda just holds its shape.
I’ve never tried it for like a head pillow before so I don’t know how comfortable it is for that, but it’s great for anything you might sit on like a chair cushion or whatever
What normal pillow filling texture would it compare to?
Imagine the conformity of memory foam with the firmness of dry rice, and you’re in the ballpark. There’s not really a 1:1 comparison.
It might sound weird but it is super comfortable. It needs to be pretty full though, if it’s under-stuffed then it just lacks the support.

Beanbag chair…ish. it’s not really close to anything else. In fact I think some beanbag chairs are filled with buckwheat husks.
