Billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk is leaving the Trump administration after leading a tumultuous efficiency drive during which he upended several federal agencies but failed to deliver the generational savings he had sought.

A White House official told Reuters on Wednesday night that it was accurate Musk is leaving the administration and his "off-boarding will begin tonight.”

His departure was quick and unceremonious. He did not have a formal conversation with Trump before announcing his departure, according to a source with knowledge of the matter, who added that his exit was decided “at a senior staff level.”

    The damage is long done.

Also remember, you can only be a special government employee for 130 days a year. Just wait till 2026.

They’re just saving face. If Trump wanted Musk around, he would stick around. Whether that’s in DOGE or some other part of government.

His network of backdoors is already in every computer he could reach.

At this point, burning the whole thing down is the only way to clear this scum out.

Everything needs to be restarted, from the cybersecurity to the housing programs to Congress to the constitution. Absolutely everything needs to be fixed and started over from scratch.

Musk becoming (like actually poor like all of us, not rich ppl poor) poor and really irrelevant (and thus completely ignored and not famous at all) would be the best punishment ever for him, even better than prison.

Only one way to view it, disastrous for Musk, the US government, the US people and the world. To think that someone could wreak so much damage in such a short time with so little regard for the consequences is staggering.

  • Good, keep boycotting every thing he touches or owns. He needs to end up back in South Africa completely broke when we go and order his extradition for him to stand trial and go to jail…

I know it’s a dream, but let me dream ok?

First of all he already ruined the nation. We’re fucked.

Second, he gutted everyone who had any chance of stopping his various evil companies from doing evil shit. Mission accomplished on his part.

Third, if there were any justice he’d see it all completely undone and rot for the rest of his life in prison. But, since he’s the richest man on the planet, there will NOT be ANY justice, and the best we can hope for is that he flies the fuck to Mars where he can be the Martian emperor and hopefully not bother the rest of us.

Fuck him. Fuck all of his companies. I used to love SpaceX and even Tesla (Pre-pandemic they made really good cars, my friends had some, they kicked ass.) Now? Burn it all down and like I said I hope he fucks off to Mars, preferably taking God-Emperor Trump with him.

Musk’s 130-day mandate as a special government employee in the Trump administration was set to expire around May 30.

Thought many speculated before that Trump would let Musk soak up all the DOGE unpopularity and dump him at this time limit.

Yup, and probably next month too. He isn’t going anywhere, he’s just trying to hide from the limelight.

He’s going to pretend he’s not a nazi to try to save his shitty businesses because the backlash to the reveal was worse than they expected. Too bad republicans don’t really care about EVs and democrats aren’t buying that he’s changed.

Why the fuck do republicans always think somehow they’re the majority and everyone agrees with them? I don’t understand how the richest person in the world and the most powerful person in the world can’t see that most of the world hates them. Even most republicans hate them, but they’re just relieved to have any republican in power.

They think they’re majority because their programs are much louder. Moms for liberty hits hundreds of school districts but it’s just one traveling handful of people.

Very true, they also get way more media coverage. Hardly anyone pays attention when a liberal who isn’t famous speaks out.
