In the run-up to last year‘s election, [Martin Verdi and Debora Rey] said they remembered Trump speaking about people like Jose Ibarra, a Venezuelan man with no lawful status in the country who was convicted of the murder of nursing student Laken Riley on the University of Georgia campus.

“During the campaign he gave the example of many criminals from Venezuela who had come in, because many criminals from Venezuela had even killed people. That has nothing to with cases like these,” Verdi said.

The couple said they “of course” would not have voted for Trump had they realized what the scale of the immigration crackdown was going to be.

Absolutely everyone knew this would happen, the ones who claim otherwise were just hoping they would be “one of the good ones”.

Imagine the number of non white people who are sitting comfortably at home with nothing happening to still confident of their vote for Trump.

It’s messed up, I’m up in Canada and personally know several deranged people who scream and shout for Trump and a few of them are non white.

They won’t understand what they’re supporting until they get thrown in jail for being who they are … non white people!

I’m starting to think this just isn’t true. I believe that the average person is just not paying attention. Even the average immigrant family that might randomly have heard / seen trump ramble on about immigration problems.

I think, just like the farmers that suffered with taraffs last time , these people are just on autopilot. They assume america is gonna keep on being “good” and do “the right thing” by them and just punish the deserving (whatever that means to them)

They vote, and they vote party lines without a single thought put into the consequences. Without listening to what was said, or considering what it could mean.

In other words yes, they knew this would happen.
