Moscow has warned it is prepared to cut diplomatic ties with Washington if the US confiscates frozen Russian assets. The Kremlin has called the Wall Street Journal’s report Wagner Group boss Yevgeny Prigozhin was assassinated by Putin’s ally “pulp fiction”.

    The funny part about that is that they were leasing the planes along with maintenance contracts. So they’ve got the planes, but every third one will need to be cannibalized for parts. Then it will be every other plane. Meanwhile, flying on Russian airlines will be more and more interesting as the planes are “engineered” to keep them flying.

    Now, Russia has a robust aircraft industry. But just like every other Russian industry, it’s kinda busy with other stuff. And flying isn’t exactly an optional for moving across Russia’s vast territory.

    This is going to be a tragedy factory for decades.
