Crashed into the water shortly after taking off from Avalon, Catalina island, headed for hospital in Torrance, California. Was carrying a patient undergoing medical emergency, a family member, and 3 crew. Was at night 7:45pm. 218ft water depth. Pilot and nurse reported dead in update.
Isn’t this the second helicopter crash in LA in like two or three weeks?
Helicopters are death traps so no surprise there. Especially since we live in an era of deteriorating quality over all, even if the maintenance crews on the choppers are doing everything perfectly parts quality is not garunteed.

Imagine being strapped to a stretcher in a helicopter and it crashing into the ocean in the dark, and helicopter rapidly sinking
I think the harder scenario to empathize with is the remaining family members not in the helicopter. Like Billy and Dad were headed to the hospital and now they’re both missing
