White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Thursday that the president wears bandages on the back of his hand because he’s “literally constantly shaking hands.”
CNN host Jake Tapper isn’t buying the official White House explanation for Donald Trump sporting bandages on the back of his hand, arguing on “The Lead” that there’s more to the president’s health picture than has been revealed.
Tapper discussed the matter with CNN chief political analyst David Axelrod and ex-Trump aide Alyssa Farah Griffin after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters Thursday that Trump wears the bandages as a result of “constantly shaking hands.”
“The White House gave the same explanation for bruising back in July,” Tapper said Thursday. “Obviously, he’s 79 years old. And there is something going on with his health that they’re not telling us, because otherwise, why did he have that MRI?”
Best explanation I’ve seen for these bandages over bruises is he is receiving an infusion intravenously every two weeks of a type of medication for dementia, like Leqembi or Kisunla. Patients on these drugs require regular MRIs to monitor brain swelling or bleeding. The drugs cause side effects of fatigue, cardiovascular changes, dizziness, etc. It doesn’t stop dementia but it does slow it down.
He has probably already forgotten his dementia diagnosis.

I mean, there is definitely something wrong with Trump, he’s almost 80.
I guess you could argue that what’s wrong with him doesn’t affect his ability to lead, but personally he hasn’t been mentally fit to lead for a long time now.
I have friends that can run a 10k at 80. If you live that long, you’re going to age, but decrepitude is not inevitable. My grandfather stayed strong, mentally sharp and mobile until his late 90s and was only frail for a couple of months at the end of his life. A lot of what’s wrong with Trump has to do with him being Trump, not specifically with his being old.
Why say something now, Jake? Why not wait until after his presidency? Then write a book about it? Then sell that book while you’re doing your job on TV? Just a thought.

If he’s been having micro-strokes, the likelihood of a massive game-ending stroke is much higher than in the general population. Though it would be more just if he had one that rendered him crippled, incapable of speech, and in constant pain, then he lived another decade after being removed from office, having enough awareness to know that his ill-gotten gains and those of his family have been fully asset-stripped. Also, bedsores. Lots of bedsores.

It is fun to watch him have mini strokes occasionally. The one video where you could see him testing his hands and his right side just didn’t respond was beautiful. Hope he gets trapped in his shitty body.

I think easy bruising is a ton of conditions.
None of those conditions are “perfect health A+++++++!!!” that this admin puts out.
Most likely, warfarin. Less likely, some kind of IV infusion to treat dementia (though those tend to go into a vein near the elbow). Less likely yet, he’s getting frequent CT scans for some reason, and he gets hematomas from the cannula in a vein in his hand.
Or maybe he’s totally gaga and chews on the backs of his hands.
I meant it as in there’s a ton of reasons bruising can develop. If he’s on warfarin that means he’s at risk for blood clots, which leads credence to the stroke theory from that one weekend.
