You’re very good at overlooking misogyny.

From a humanist perspective, of course all people get lonely and almost all of them deserve support. From a realist perspective, young men today have been spoon fed hate by the likes of Tate to the point that they can’t even express sadness without bashing women.

I swing between feeling empathy for these misguided men and feeling cynical anger towards them for the damage they’ve done to society re: the rise of the brocaster manosphere and their support of Trump, fascism, and hating on women and LGBTQ+.

Keep apologizing for them tho. It’s cute 🥰

You are 100% correct. It’s deeply concerning that we can not discuss this huge societal red herring on social media without being mobbed on with downvotes and comment removals

I even said you’re right that there are plenty of of shitty misogynists out there? Like again conflation. Like if you have to disregard what people say to prove your point then you aren’t really proving your point. If you can’t engage with dissenting views in a good faith way then what is the point of replying at all? And once again I agree that there are plenty of young men that express hatred and vileness through their own despair, I agree about the manosphere and about the issues they’ve caused. Believe it or not we’re on the same side. Like I believe you when you say you’re capable of feeling empathy, but I’m not telling you to be empathic to hateful people, just to refrain from making assumptions about people—Which you almost seem to do before devolving a hateful homogenization of individuals again. Like do you assume all lonely people are hateful and prejudicial or just men specifically? Does this also encompass people with depression?

I’m not trying to prove a point

Well at least that much is clear.

Is it as bad as telling them you’re an internet troll?

Probably even worse when you’re both, right?

Good to have a chance to ask an expert, though I guess you may not have anybody to tell IRL

Honestly, the thread made for an interesting read. That person was like when you’re so angry you can’t even comprehend what the other person is saying. Or a troll, but it seemed more heartfelt than trolly. Either way, unwell is as accurate a keyboard assessment as I could come up with.

Honestly with the shit going on right now I’ve been that kind of angry more times than I’d like to admit… like I can’t say I don’t get it. It’s exhausting seeing shitty people getting their way and running the world and making everyone’s life significantly more difficult, just by being shitty people and being propped up and put in place by other shitty people
