The rules limiting “mature-natured” jokes have been lifted after the general consensus of feedback was in favor of more openness. Thank you all for taking part of the discussion. I am always open to suggestions on how to improve the community as it develops.
On a personal note, as fall sets in for me, I realize I haven’t had a single mosquito in my backyard all summer.

I always think it’s a shame when uncle jokes seep into dad jokes. They are not the same. I wouldn’t tell my under-10yo kids an uncle joke. I would tell them a dad joke. I would tell my teenage nephews and nieces an uncle joke. Uncle jokes should be in an uncle jokes community e.g. [email protected]
It’ll be a shame if this community changes into smut - we get enough of that elsewhere, it’s nice to have a place for clean jokes. But I guess I’m in the minority.
I agree. I share many of these with my kid.
Oh shoot, I thought Uncle Jokes could handle the edgier jokes. I’m not going anywhere though. What about asking people to preface them with a rating letter? G or E for the mosquito joke for instance. T for the jokes a Dad could tell teens but not little kids, M for the jokes he only tells Mom
I’m curious, are people actually getting offended or upset if they read a joke with mature humour?
Not offended, I know well enough that people most often than not don’t mean to offend, they are just having fun.
I liked this place because it focused on silly puns. The world needs more silliness.

I’m going to watch a bit, but if this turns into just a dirty joke central … 🤷♀️ … that’s not what I joined the group for.
I’m cautiously optimistic, but I agree. If it essentially turns into a general adult humor feed, I’ll likely either alter the rules here or find/create a space for kid-friendly/light-hearted jokes. That was the original intent for the space, since so many jokes are already focused on adult humor.

Hahaha! If someone I love died, and I was all super depressed and broken up about it, and another friend gave me that card with their condolences… I think I might actually laugh so hard that I’d die of a heart attack right then and there.
