Psychedelics are often associated with disconnecting from reality, but a recent neuroimaging study found that psilocybin can actually make our brain activity more attuned to the world around us.

I quit smoking with an lsd trip. 26 years of smoking. One groovy night with a side of “quit smoking tonight thoughts”. 4 years non-smoking, no urge.

That is interesting considering that Iboga is supposed to cure any physical addiction in on trip. Iboga is a plant from central africa. It is not only psychadelic, it hits other receptors sideways, including the opiate ones. Not a strong hit on the latter.

One trip on Iboga cures any physical addiction they say. I imagine that would not follow to steroids but more to recreationals.

“They” say Iboga cures any physical addiction with one trip? Who is “they”?

        Hits the receptors sideways???

Maybe they are referring to ibogaine as a partial agonist for opioid receptors. “Hits receptors sideways” is an odd and incorrect way of stating that though

What are you actually referring to though? Was I correct that you are implying that it is a partial agonist?

“Hits the receptor sideways” may be common pseudoscientific jargon, but it means nothing within the context of neuroscience or neuropharmacology.

So, to clarify, what exactly do you mean by it?

I explained this in another response. I will not explain again because I think you are acting like a [redacted,] and as such suspect you are one of those people with nothing to contribute so you just look for people to put down, and choose half baked reasons to do so.

Frankly you don’t warrant a respone, you half wit supporters either.

Something may have gotten lost in the mix. You are taking a very defensive stance, when I asked a neutral question.

I looked through your responses, and at no point did you clarify what you actually meant by the phrase “hits the receptor sideways”.

I’m pretty sure you are referring to the fact that it is a partial agonist, and all I requested was that you clarify if that was the case.

I apologize if that somehow put you on your heels.

That said, there is no need for name calling or projecting ill intent. Thank you very much

Common parlance, not speaking scientifically, is not pseudoscience for starters, and that you think it is says a lot about the wisdom of even further responding to you here.

The iboga effects were studied scientifically back in like the 60s and then added as a schedule 1 narcotic making researching it nearly impossible. But you can read all about it by typing that same query into a search engine, that is assuming the search engine will bother to give you what you are asking for.

Yes, many plants hit opiate receptors sideways. Kratom hits the kappa’s, but will break through to the deltas in large doses, (a very unpleasant effect with kratom,) while the aphrodesiac Yohimbe, also from equatorial africa, hits some of the side receptors. Then there is what’s it called, another one too from africa. Salvia Divinorum as well. That is a very short list, I think some of the solanaceaes even have a side hit on receptors but I might be wrong on that one.
