International relations noob here. I get why we want to do this, and sure, do it, but it feels like the real plan is to just keep funding Israel while they do a little ethnic cleansing both countries’ leadership wants.
There’s no “ethnic cleansing” happening in Iran, there are targeted strikes on military, economic, and government sites. No invasion, no boots on the ground, and a relatively low amount of casualties in comparison to the number of strikes carried out so far.
The ethnic cleansing is happening in Gaza and West Bank, also known as “land Israel feels it should control”. Israel has no interest in controlling Iran, they just want a government there that isn’t an existential threat to Israel. No reason to commit genocide and depopulate land you have no interest in controlling.
We’ve basically used places like Israel to avoid legal shit we don’t wanna do ourselves. Go spy on the middle east and act as a police force so we don’t have to. Now Mossad is one of the most effective information controllers in the world because that’s what the West wanted of them.
They’re basically a guard dog for the oil fields and have started really pulling the lead now that the US is so weak(Trump)

Israel is a US interest because they are an easier target than the US in a region that tends to prefer terrorist actions.
