I don’t know your government, but I once worked in such a job and its mostly not true. Fixed scheme yes, and maybe a bit less responsibilities compared to the private sector. But workload and culture was similar.

21·9 months agoI am convinced AI could replace CEO’s very easily. Making decisions based on trends and lots of data is an easy use case. And if it’s the wrong decision who cares? CEO’s also don’t take and responsibility at all. AI is also a very good lair too.

16·11 months agoVery sad to hear but totally understandable. Unfortunately, this will make the centralization of lemmy world even worse.
How much effort is it actually to host a small instance? I am thinking about hosting one mostly for my self. Mainly because I am interested in the technology. Also my country doesn’t have one so that could be a topic too if there is some interest. But hearing this I am not so sure anymore. I can’t put many hours into it each week just to keep it running.

glad I am not the only one. I even disabled the Bing and Websearch bullshit, but somehow in 1 of 5 cases the search result is not the software I am looking for. Even when I type exactly its name.
I have the same issue but with KDE. But in my case I think its because of the wireless mouse.

17·1 year agoNope, a good developer asks exactly the first thing with the birthdays. If you don’t have proper data it’s impossible to give the correct answer. This is the difference from an experienced developer to a junior.
Zuckerberg is already building a 100 million dollar doomsday bunker on hawaii. I guess the others have similar projects. While we fight for the last cans they can still enjoying a luxury life. So better we go after them before.

Reminds me of MattKC, a guy on YouTube who does similar stuff. He ported the .Net framework to win95. very interesting videos, if think this challenge would be exactly his type.
