14 days agoAs a filthy American, it’s just because of propaganda on this side of the pond. Union busters successfully portrayed the French as lazy and entitled because of all the strikes/protests over workers’ rights. Gasp! Oh the horror!
That’s genuinely it. And the fact that Americans are fucking stupid and eat that shit up, because our dumbass society romanticizes “working hard” and “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.” My father-in-law just the other day made a joke about the French being lazy after I said something along the lines of “we could learn a thing or two from the French on how to protest.”
Idiots.
Why does it matter?
He was given a platform by the GOP when they dragged him through the mud for checks notes struggling with addiction.
It probably started as a therapeutic way for him to take back control of the narrative surrounding his own life and his sobriety journey when he broke his silence a few months ago. Addiction is a mother fucker, having gone through it myself, so I support him and am proud of him.
Everything else is just putting into context how ridiculous U.S. politics is these days. The poor guy just wanted to actually speak for himself, after years and years of having his name dragged through the mud. He didn’t ask for Donald Dump to make his life an open book, but he’s having fun with it now, and I’m here for it.
Plus, thanks to the GOP, it’s confirmed he’s packing a massive shlong. And I love that for him.
