Shouldn’t be allowed. Companies shouldn’t be allowed to buy each other. We already know what happens with consolidation.

First of all, “there’s no money for this” coming from the federal government is a lie, on any topic. They just don’t want to, and take advantage of people not knowing how money works. There’s always money for bombs, but for schools and social services not so much.

Second of all, as others have said, capping social security payments per year is stupid. It should be progressive. The first $x don’t get taxed at all, then higher rates as your income goes high.

Third, it shouldn’t be tied to your personal contributions. We live in a society, despite what anti social conservative monsters say.

The initial goal post was “This has to end, nobody is worth that much.”, referring to CEOs making 614 times more than workers. Their wealth being in billions or millions was not mentioned. The goal post was not moved.

The sequence as I understand it is

• no one needs that much money
• billionaires have more than that much money. They don’t need it.
• you: none of the ceos are billionaires
• me: fine, but they still don’t need that much money.

If anything, you pointing out that the CEOs aren’t billionaires is a distraction from the point.

You can live a comfortable life with $5 million in the bank. No one needs $17m a year.

I think it was heart of stone where I found random soldiers that were like level 40, and were thus inexplicably hard to kill. Kind of sucked. (Tip: setting things on fire does percentage damage, and so scales really well)

Nothing in the game is the kind of execution challenge difficulty I enjoy. It’s not like elden ring where you really have to manage spacing and stamina, consider your weapon, spells, skills. You can mostly just level and upgrade your stuff in witcher3, and win with face rolling.

Which is fine. That’s a valid kind of game. I just lost interest when replaying it because without the story to keep me in, the moment to moment gameplay wasn’t compelling enough

I didn’t really struggle with the controls when I replayed part of it this year. I lost interest because the difficulty starts out a little rough (wolves will kill you) and then a few hours later you’re so strong that even narratively scary things just melt.

A lot of people died to get the pittances we got from the ownership class. Decades of

• labor: we want to paid in real money, and work less than 12 hours a day 6 days a week
• owner: no
• labor: then we’re going on strike
• owner, to the state: HELP
• the state: sends police and troops to do violence to labor

The idea that peacefully asking for stuff on its own is effective is largely ahistorical. A happy myth sold by the people who would be receiving violence.
