There’s basically one far right playbook. Did you really think Netanyahu would change tactics just because he happened to be a Jewish right winger.

Perhaps. But India is the one trying get Canada to do something. India has the bad visa policy. There is no braindrain to India. So, that change won’t work.
I think hurting the people creates a rally-around-the-flag effect. Instead Canadians tell their government to cede to Indian demands, they’ll tell the government to stick it harder to the Indians.
The beef with Canada has nothing to with China. It’s just a comment on the ridiculousness of Indian foreign policy.
I completely support ostracizing the Chinese government, but not regular Chinese ppl. I mean, they’re just trying to live their life man. Same as the rest of us.
Which is, ironically, why it would make political sense to pass this. Not a single congressman is really living paycheck to paycheck. And once the shutdown is over, they’d get the money anyway.
No loss of comfort, due to the ability to postpone payments / dip into savings. No lost income due to eventually getting paid. Huge political bragging rights due to “solidarity”
Literally no downside.
Yet, not a single one of these greedy fucks will probably support it.
No tourist visas for China, suspending visa services in Canada. This is stupid. Please throw your political temper tantrum in a way that doesn’t hurt regular people.
Go for it. I double dare you.
I really hope so too. I’m tired of Musk.
Her behavior fits what I would expect of the people who voted for her.
Unfortunately, we don’t have that option. Trump wants to turn America into a dictatorship. We want to keep the country democratic, which means adhering to the rule of law.
There has to be a legal way to fix this. At the very least, a stay on enforcement of deportation orders. :(
Out of my league means that there’s a high chance I’m going to get rejected. How do I know? It happened to me. It happened to my friends.
Does this guarantee that I will be rejected? No. Does mean that I’m putting the person on a pedestal? No.
It merely means that being rejected sucks. It’s not fun. And to avoid that sucky feeling I’ve chosen to avoid pursuing people with a high chance of rejection.
This behavior is not putting people on a pedestal. After all, if people of my league were truly that amazing, it would be worth it to pursue them. Kind of a high risk, high reward approach. Instead, it’s generally true that a relationship with of an out of my league person is just as fulfilling as someone in my league.
Tldr: out of my league means high risk, low reward
Excellent. Now, make a similar statement about corporate spyware.
Serious question: how will this impact funding (non-religious) services for poorer parents / single mothers?
The article mentioned a woman who was provided shelter and diapers for 5 months after the birth of their child. I do think that there should be facilities to help women like her. Preferably non-religious, without the anti-abortion misinformation.
I don’t know how old you are, nor should I, so I can’t do anything to stop you.
What are the most likely causes of death? Are we talking average life expectancy drops by a couple of years, but quality of life remains constant? Or are we talking famine and war due to a loss of areable land?
I assume it’s a little of both, but it’s useful to know which sides the scales tip.
Totally agree. Microsoft has invested way too much in openAI to have a repeat of the Sam Altman debacle. They will formalize their control of te company. And Altman has already shown that in conflict between the board and MS, he’s on Microsoft’s side.
Also, any openAI developer who thinks that openAI currently is an independent company is kidding themselves. Microsoft is effectively already calling the shots, al be it in a roundabout way.
