  • This realization you’re describing is really like the “you’re in the matrix” scene in the matrix. lol, forgive me as I’m not the most well read but I do love me my movies these days.

When you realize the extent of imperial/colonialism that your country not only has done and continues to do in places most Americans will never go but also realizing your country is 100% founded on racist genocidal colonial settling it really hits different to listen to local politicians who’s hearts are in the right place but will never admit to America’s evils and then even justify them by saying we are the most diverse country in the world and that’s a good thing. Mf it is a good thing, but a lot of these diaspora can’t go home.

We had a guy who was friends with segregationists running as a “progressive” Democrat in his fucking eighties. Don’t believe me, look up “Strom Thurmond” and a certain senator who looked up to him. It makes the world a little less fun, looking at things materially, but it brings a level of understanding your political environment and your country in general than most have and that does feel really good. When you meet other people who get it, that really makes life worth living.

Anyway rant over, sorry there’s not really a point. Godspeed my native friend

  • I don’t even care about sheer size alone, plat is winning that fight. My opinion of the 2 men aside, Fetterman could maybe get one of those big dashes in that video game bosses do where he crashes into the wall and stuns himself and then Platner just rips him apart with his hands. Those military dudes got strong hands. Scares me, personally…

but (being serious now) if Platner wants to walk the walk as an anti-imperialist candidate I hope he can show it. I do hope he wins, though I don’t have any say in the Maine race anyways from over a thousand miles away. I don’t like him as a person from what I’ve seen from him, but like I said I’ve never even been to Maine and if he serves the working class in Maine and serves as a genuine anti-war anti-imperialist voice in America it’s a good thing. I’m just very very VERY skeptical so far.

  • Yet he went on to suggest that Iran should have the right to enrich uranium, be allowed to develop ballistic missiles …

and he’s damn right. If they weren’t developing those before, which I’ve read that they really weren’t because of outside pressure, they definitely should and should be allowed to. You don’t become one of the oldest countries to still physically exist by just sitting around and letting other countries control your exports. That ain’t how the game works. Now, pair that with US bases in the Middle East going bye bye, and the govt of Iran about to hit a sweet $300 billion deal, I think it’s clear who “won” this time.

… But hey, Friday is a whole day away

    (Give Cuba nukes now)
