Kid Rock’s invite was “lost in the mail”.
I never claimed he said those additional things.
What he does have is an army of apologists who will tell other why what he said isn’t what he said, and if it was what was said it’s being taken out of context, and if it’s not out of context it’s actually three different statements, two of which he never said, but could be true, so accept that even though that’s not what he said.
I know you didn’t, that’s why I accused you of being an apologist.
“America deserved X” does not mean “the children involved deserved X” and it does not even mean “the people who did X did a good thing”. It means only “America deserved X”.
It doesn’t matter how you try to separate “America” the idea as deserving 9/11 from “Americans” who didn’t deserve it because when you flatten it to “America deserved 9/11”, you’re not separating the means from the end, and the means was jets filled with innocent people turned into missiles. 9/11 isn’t 9/11 without the kids who died on the planes to give America what it deserved.
Piker’s not an idiot. He knew that a comment like that would go viral, it’s a sensationalist hot take that will immediately cause an explosion of discussion, which then becomes a quick dismissal of “it was satire”, but most importantly, he flipped being held accountable for his lack of nuance on separating America from Americans into being attacked by his enemies.
Edit: formatting error fixed
Nah. There was no nuance to his statement, and he’s never backtracked or amended it in a way that acknowledges while the institutions deserved it, the method by which the attack was carried out killed children and people who had no connection to the institutions being targeted. They were collateral damage and part of the reason 9/11 is what it is. What he does have is an army of apologists who will tell other why what he said isn’t what he said, and if it was what was said it’s being taken out of context, and if it’s not out of context it’s actually three different statements, two of which he never said, but could be true, so accept that even though that’s not what he said. Like a bunch of fucking MAGAts arguing why Trumps words aren’t what he said or meant.
If you’re so invested in your influencer that you will ignore endorsing actions that tools the lives of innocent children because the outcome was worth it in your eyes, you are not a progressive, or a socialist, or a communist, or an ally. There’s a certain strain of leftism that has emerged where America is always the worst so any action taken against it is acceptable, up to and including the death of a two year old. We’re going to have to be real careful about who’s getting into what power positions once MAGA is dealt with because we’ve got leftists who will preach solidarity now but would stab us in the back as so as the rebuilding begins.
“America deserved 9/11”
He’s backtracked on that statement and claimed it was satirical/hyperbole/sarcasm and poorly worded. While I’m all for criticism of American imperialism and globalized capitalism, if you’re going to target the people behind that, target them like Luigi is alleged to have done. The kids who were on the planes those zealots used had zero influence on the world they were born into but died anyway. The youngest was a two year old. Fuck Al Queda and fuck anyone who thinks that was an acceptable blow to the system.

Trysexual, the people who’ll do anything once.

Red state cities are almost inevitably the thorn in the side of the state because they are the last bastion of blue. I live in a blue city in a very, very red state. If we have a protest or rally the haters will drive across the state to harass us. Our cops already hate us. The state targets our mayor and city council with gross overreach to force Republican values that the city is using its capacity to prevent from being forced on the citizens that shouldn’t have to live with them. Cities are also often more diverse. They will absolutely put this money into red states because it’ll help fuel the suppression of opposition.

Rommel was killed by his own team for trying to kill Hitler, so here’s to the hope MAGA follows suit and begins consuming itself.

Rommel- genocidal general that later joined a conspiracy ring to assassinate his leader and stage a coup. Understandable why he’s an inspiration. I hope Greg gets the same fate as his idol.

Eh, well, despite the narrative that protestors are lazy and wealthy, most of us take a loss to get the day off to protest. Freezing my over-drawn account is not the worst thing to happen to me. By all means, make capitalism impossible, we’ll just be forced to barter and trade.
Medieval drawings and 19th century dinosaurs

It’s funny that we have such a weird hang up over a basic function that all humans do. I totally understand and support the right to privacy when you go, but we also are culturally more paranoid about it than actually needs be, even those of us most comfortable with “it is what it is”. I’ve never felt the urge to grab the dick of a dude next to me at a urinal, nor have I ever had someone casually fondle me while I took a whiz, but I’ll still take the furthest available. Don’t really know why, just cultural conditioning. As for the gaps, why is that you inevitably end up making accidental eye contact with the occupant? It’s like we can’t not accidentally have that moment. I don’t want to watch someone poop, why did I look, I knew what was going on but I still couldn’t not look that way, and they know I looked, my god what is wrong with me?!?

The communication arms race will never end and if the worst comes to fruition, the simplest, closest methods will be key. It’s wonderful we can now network and chat with people on the opposite side of the planet, but when shit hits the fan that doesn’t mean much for most of us. I’ve been glad to see zines and slaps make a comeback. Best of luck trying to get your AI to figure out who’s dropping manifestos they punched out on a typewriter.

Y’all realize we aren’t voting our way out of this and no third party is going to intervene to stop it, right? Right?

Isolation doesn’t eradicate hate. Might halt it, but when people like Zionists and MAGA get their plans thwarted it’ll rewrite itself as the victim, the oppressed, the “Lost Cause”, and fester until the next version of old hate finds it’s way to power again. Might not happen in any of our lifetimes, but until you eradicate the source of the hate and implement deZionification efforts, you’re just caught in a cycle.

It’s probably some bait, but I think the majority is nearly legitimate. People post a lot of stupid shit on the Internet. Look at all the morons who post threats and pics/vids of criminal behavior on Facebook, under their own name.
I also can’t fathom the amount of data they have to sort through. There’s real people in the places they say they are, the fake accounts claiming to be in one nation but are across the world, bot farms, and the weaponized accounts of foreign countries trying to stir shit up abroad. I think this is part of the drive behind AI, law enforcement, as big and powerful as it is, genuinely can’t police the internet and quickly identify legitimate threats to its power. I’m sure they’ve made some advancements, they do have a robust surveillance state, but they can’t use it to the capacity they want. So in the meantime they hype the boogeyman but instead of a monster in your closet it’s a bunch of rats pretending they’re scarier than they are.
I wasn’t directing that at you, I should have responded with a “if one” instead of “if you” to make it more clear it was a critique of the culture of “my icon can do no wrong”, and then when they do “that’s not what they meant” than you the poster.
That I’ve now met self-proclaimed leftists that are so “America bad” they’ve turned our fight against the Nazis into “blind imperialism” is… is something. Did we use what came after for imperialism, yeah. Would the world have been a better place if America hadn’t entered the war? Doubt it.
