When you send an email stating you want to exercise your gdpr rights, more often than not the companies asks for an identification of some sort. I’ve seen in multiple threads on other services that when that happens is common to ask for an Id. Which actually creates a chilling effect, making people less likely to go with the gdpr enforcement. So by default they don’t ask for anything, but the language implies the capability is there in case the gdpr clause is brought up

I am not going to say this is a one country specific problem. However, we for sure need to start a much needed scrutiny regarding cars in general and privacy/security, and we need to start somewhere

I actually have a question about this: if I agree to a version of the ToS, later there is an update, and I do not agree with the changes, should not be the case I jeep using something out of date but also with a certain version of the ToS?

Asking in legal terms here, since companies like to put these changes as “accept or walk away” sort of situation, but I am almost sure this is actually either illegal or very close to that (and no, ToS, or a contract, is NOT above the law. So don’t even bother with that point)

From my perspective has to do with form factor more than anything else. These smart glasses at a glance are indistinguishable from regular glasses. A phone looks like a phone, so people know what’s up at a glance.

On Lemmy there has been a lot of reaction against anything llms, no matter positive or negative for the technology. Granted, llms made everything worse, and the leaders of it won’t stop doom trolling. Which makes a lot of people averse to anything relates to llms, and worse, relate to ai = llms, which could not be further from the truth. Let’s see with time how it evolves, but right now is the direction taken is neither good or functional

These chatbots leverage a lot of emotions by having way too human interactions with people. In a sense, they are personified, which lead to vulnerable emotional people to have this sort of dependency and a massive fallout when it is unplugged or not accessible. Also, is no one going to point out an 8 year old saying she has a “boyfriend” and she has a dependency on ai?? Where dafuq are the parents?

Teaching kids about openness and dangers of online activities is one of the best things to do. Make sure your kids feel safe to tell you what they are up to and you as a parent be also trusting on your kids judgment if they tell you the truth. Sure, some privacy is needed, but if something is up there is ground to talk about it.

Another thing not discussed at all is parents actually spending time on what the kids use as apps or understand their social life, to make sure you understand as a parent how something works or how the circle of friends look like.

This is a bit of a different issue. This as more to do parents not feeling that being part of this group is normal or acceptable. Kids need privacy on devices to an extent, but should be closely checked if there are any red flags on groomers, scammers or similar encroaching in the kid’s life

The language used in the entire thing is so off putting. Like they really really want you to believe is for the children. Also, the first country in the world that won’t allow children to share pictures of themselves nude? I had to chuckle at that (to be clear, I think children should not operate devices unattended to avoid stuff like this, but that should be parenting, not daddy government)
