You’re clearly riled up about the feedback you’re getting from some people on Lemmy. And that’s understandable, given that I don’t think you are a Russian operative or anything like that. I think you are on this platform with the best of intentions.

But from the outside looking in, it seems like you are doubling down because of this reaction. You are seeing the community’s backlash against your contributions (be they right or wrong) and you seem to be thinking “well screw you guys, I’m going to just post even more of this content!” That’s your choice, of course.

But regardless of the sentiment, you are posting about Stein and other third party candidates a lot. In my opinion (and that of a fair few other people, it seems), some of the links you are sharing are decent but unpopular; and some of them are dubious.

I know you and I have had one or two recent back-and-forths on this topic. For what it’s worth, I haven’t downvoted your replies to me. You are entitled to your opinion, and to share it on this platform.

But I suggest taking a breath and relaxing a bit. I’m not saying that to be a dick or to be patronizing or to put you off from sharing links. And before you say something like “oh I’m already super relaxed!”, I’m not implying you are raging or wound-up behind a device. I just know from my own experience online that it can be easy to get lost in a kind of crusade to share your opinions and passions.

Then Boss Ross and Fred Rogers rise from the grave briefly just to say that they both think Harris and Walz are really nice people and would do a good job.

I expect at least half the reason she publicly endorsed Harris was to seriously piss Trump and his followers off. That seems like something she’d really enjoy.

Classic manipulative bully behavior. Antagonize and abuse a victim until they react with hostility. And then play the victim and implore for peace so the victim looks like the aggressor. Though Vance is such an incompetent sack of shit that it’s following nobody who’s not in that death cult.

My point (which I’m pretty sure you understood) is that you post incessantly about Jill Stein. So it’s painfully obvious that you like her.

Me too. My initial guess is it’s something along the lines of a Stuxnet infection of the targeted pagers, which had the operating systems do something that caused the batteries to overheat and explode.

But the fact that they all exploded at the same time is very interesting. You’d think that do ing that by overheating the batteries would see them explode at slightly different times due to local environmental variables.

ETA: As others have pointed out, this must be more than just a lithium ion battery overheating/exploding. I read somewhere that Hezbollah inserts a self-destruct explosive into their pagers in case of emergency. And it sounds like the Israeli intelligence forces probably hacked into their network and triggered the detonations. So it’s probably a combination of Hezbollah’s paranoia combined with old school hacking from Israel.

It’s interesting to me how Ackman was portrayed in the 2016 Betting On Zero documentary as some kind of social champion for the poor who wanted to end the exploitation of regular working/middle class Americans by Herbalife.

When watching that that depiction of Ackman rang hollow, no matter how hard they tried to push that narrative. It just seemed like a financial battle royale where both sides were scumbags. And now, of course, that’s been confirmed (yet again). He’s just another entitled ultra-rich asshole peddling bullshit for his own selfish, exploitative intentions.

Maybe that’s why people leave his rallies in droves. The breeze starts blowing the wrong way, and the crowds get his diaper+BO stank right in their faces.

They are too used to the typical news cycle where they bombard the public with lies to the point where everyone starts believing those are real. They’ve grown complacent.

Grilling chicken in Ohio, eh? Hmm, I hear there’s a huge orange chicken who is scared to have a second debate because he got so badly humiliated in the first one. He might want to stay away from Ohio since they are grilling his kind.

Opus Dei has had a huge influence on the post-liberal right movement. And you can’t get more tone deaf to really anything than Opus Dei. They don’t give a shit about context or history or regional/national concerns. They are the proverbial hammer that sees everything as a nail.

I say the following not for you (the person I’m replying to), but for others who may read this…

Some people refer to the Catholic Church as a cult, but really the church is a broad umbrella of competing subgroups that share common beliefs yet approach most topics with pretty different perspectives (a great example being the more science-based Jesuits versus other anti-science and ultra-superstitious orders).

That said, there are cults within the Catholic Church. And Opus Dei is probably the biggest and most extreme one. They want to impose their fanatical dogma not only on the rest of the church, but also on the world. They are a cancer on global society.

So basically you have the post-liberal right movement (who are ultra-religious Catholic zealots) slyly co-opting both the MAGA movement and the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 plans to push their own agenda, which is even more extend than either of the other two. Eesh!

Maybe she should spend a bit more time learning about the basics of American politics.
