I had a housemate from India who kind of initially mocked when I bought a (second hand) new pair of earphones saying it’s from China. I just gave a bewildered look and told him everything is made in China these days and that the reputation of poor quality Chinese product is past its stereotype. He still looked up where it is made and indeed my earphones are from China. But it shows he still prioritises where it is made than actually finding out if the inherent sound quality and features are good.
