This game has such a fun premise, and the atmosphere is incredible. I wish I had enough free time to really get good at it.
What an absolutely horrific change in her day to day life over the course of a few short weeks. I hope she recovers quickly, although I hear that burn recovery is brutal and that her boyfriend goes to prison forever for such a malicious act.
Is this a matter of companies making it through a vetting proccess before they are given the loan? What is the hold up?
The cover photo they used makes it look like he haasaged 10 years in the last few weeks. Stumbling from embarassing screw up to screw up on the world stage when most people are already against you will really wreck your youthful demeanor.
Good. He deserves this shit.
Can someone explain to me the difference from Control Panel to Settings? It seems like more of a name change and of course, the UI will be different, but won’t it effectively be a hub to control your personal settings just like control panel?
He desperately feels the need to continually latch on to famous people of consequence. That’s how he deludes himself into thinking he deserves to be in their company.
I never read the source material, so I can’t speak to the quality of adaptation. But I could not get past the casting and felt like the number of extremely famous faces detracted from the plot. The first movie I was somewhat able to be emersed in the world despite the main characters being the two most popular young stars of the year. But the second movie, I felt actors were cast in small parts they hardly got a chance to act in. Not that Christpher Walken can’t absolutely nail a small part. It just didn’t feel like some exotic Sci-fi world when every character was famous from 100 other movies.
Yes, that’s why I didn’t want to rip and tear everything out the first year. Unfortunately, the previous owner of my home allowed a lot of very invasive things to grow like the Japanese Honeysuckle and tree of heaven. There is also pokeweed, which is native to the Southern US but is a nightmare plant that the Spotted Lantern Flies (another invasive killing trees) absolutely love so I have to dig those out.
My previous post made it sound like I am removing everything that isn’t hyper local, but I don’t have the time or energy for that. Would just settle for the aggressive things to finally die.
iNaturalist, as far as I know it is free or at least I have the free version and haven’t been limited in the number of IDs I can request. They also have a feature where the IDs can be verified by other users to get more specific than the automated photo identification. And let me tell you, there are some plant/bug nerds that browse the app!
I wish this would happen to me, it seems like every time I look away the seeds of some invasive vine are taking root in my yard. I’ve tried planting natives, but for me at least they have taken some work to cultivate and maintain despite trying to find natives that are appropriate for my soil and sun situation. I’m hoping every year the natives will be able to strengthen and outcompete the invasives, but for now I am stuck digging up roots and tearing down whatever non natives I find.
I’ve spent the past few summers desperately trying to claw my lawn back from invasives. When we first bought our house I didn’t want to remove anything until after a year to see what everything was, because I knew nothing about plants. I planted some natives in bare locations, but didn’t realize just how crazy some of the vines and invasive species would be in claiming space.
I have an app on my phone for identifying plants. A few years ago, every ID said invasive from Asia or Europe. I cannot tell you how satisfying it is to see some native grasses and wildflowers finally taking hold in the areas that used to be Japanese Honeysuckle or pokeweed. But it was backbreaking, miserable work and I commend anyone who is fighting this fight.
Amazing that arguments like this were tearing European cities and nations apart 500 years ago. At least this time no one was willing to die for their cause. But you can see how quickly it spirals out of hand.
I believe there was a study for the highways outside of Washington DC that had toll lanes. The fees were variable and higher during rush hour. This effectively was a small fee for the wealthy to pay in order to get to work on time and left everyone else to sit in traffic. As far as I know, the lanes still exist, but there is no variable charge.
Oh I still have fun playing it when I can! But it’s more of a desperate attempt at survival and less a strategic hunt for the bounty and skilled firefight with enemies. I wish this existed back when I was in college and had more free time to play and friends available to co-op with. I’m so anxious about letting down teammates I’m matched with online.
