But do you trust them to follow the law? I certainly don’t.

Probably because I live in America but we don’t trust police to not do something just because they’re not supposed to. They do it all the time here.
I’m sure it doesn’t come across the same in Portuguese, but I think naming a government service SUS is pretty funny.
That’s fair and I’ve had to bail on jury duty for the same reason, although I was able to participate once.
Doesn’t look like the same guy to me.
Businesses in NYC love cash. Shops everywhere have discounts for paying in cash. There are ATMs everywhere with $1 or less fee.
Don’t listen to this dumbass. I’ve got a loaded shotgun at the door too. And a little hatchet in case things aren’t as deadly.
I said exactly this to my friend on the phone today.
Because one school will be better than the other. Most likely the private school, because they charge money for parents to send their kids there in addition to the money they (unfairly) get from the government. So families with more money are more likely to send a kid to private school, which immediately creates social stratification between the private school kids and the public school kids.
The private school kids will perceive this inequity, even subconsciously, and internalize that they are better than the public school kids on some level. Often the private schools are religious too which is another can of worms.
I could keep going but I think that’s enough to get the point. Private schools shouldn’t exist. All the money given to them should be given to public schools so they are better for every kid no matter how much money their parents make.
If people with intelligence and empathy skip out on jury duty, that leaves idiots and sociopaths to judge the accused.
Second link seems to be down.
They don’t have that kind of network set up to my knowledge. Maybe in London but not New York.
Someone else said they might be counting each frame of a 24fps security camera as a photo, so like less than eight seconds right?
King George, upon learning of George Washington’s intention to resign, said “If he does that, he will be the greatest man in the world.”
I’m not here to lionize or even defend slaveowner George Washington. Your comment just made me think of that.
Of course you’re right.
Sometimes people have to be forced into their own betterment, as unpleasant as that may be. Maybe there will be the political will for change after four more years of chaos, insanity, and pain under DT. Maybe we don’t ever have a fair election again. Not much to do but wait, get armed, train, and make sure your friends, family, and neighbors are secure.
Let’s be fair. I didn’t like the censorship either, but they backed off. Running an instance isn’t exactly a big money maker and they were afraid of getting sued or shut down somehow.
There is another way-
The population of the UK was very against universal healthcare. The government implemented it anyway. Now threatening the funding of the NHS is a surefire way to not get elected.
Somebody posted a link to a similar or maybe even the same poll you’re referencing in this post. I was so confused by 81% of people liking their insurance company. This puts it into context, thank you.
They’re so clueless they don’t even understand that Medicare is government run free insurance. I’ve literally heard people say things like “The government better keep their hands off my Medicare.”
They’ll get him out soon. Maybe Saturday.
