  • Efforts to control speech in Alabama’s educational institutions constitute just one part of a larger national effort to standardize speech and, by necessity, thought. Happily, however, the First Amendment not only protects the use of particular words but also extends to a person’s choice of language.

What a waste of time and money in all this BS. maga cuts help for people but wastes money on trash like this renaming and vanity projects, he/they are pathetic and weak. This is how dictators behave to spread their lies and force conformity. These efforts go back to the powell memo and all the other gop ones since then, including the 2025 plan that’s over half done.

  • One issue is that Dems are better for all of those issues and that was the same in '24, and didn’t matter since most don’t understand these details. They blamed Dems for the steady and best recovery from the pandemic, for things that were not their fault, they don’t really know this stuff and use feels instead. The current price issues are from the senseless tariffs and war, which wouldn’t have with Harris. Maybe the companies would have raised prices for higher profits anyway to make her look bad and they’d fall for it too.

They flip flop, didn’t like prices that the world was also dealing with, and flipped to maga, then back to Dems now. If they used logic and looked at the platforms and see what policies work well elsewhere, what aligns with those, they would stay with Dems as the best chance for progress, but they don’t, and consistently flop around willy-nilly, with the winds, whatever their tiktok told them or for group bonding.

  • In reality, the country had recovered faster than many others, partly due to the stimulus money, and would have continued progress with Harris. Critically, Renee, Alex, and countless others would still be alive, if not for the violence and suffering brought by electing maga.

All the tax money spent to hurt people rather than help is one huge difference between maga and Dems. Very much not the same, and this creep is one who is guilty of so many crimes against humanity. They betrayed all the people who were on the legal path, but he throws them in concentration camps to suffer, and magas think that’s fine. That is sickness to think treating people inhumanely is fine. They use the money to inflict suffering, rather than help needy children or anything humane. Crossing the border, often refugees, doesn’t deserve torture and inhumane treatment, fines maybe, not torture.

  • All of these horrible things from maga were not new though, yet so many still voted for them last time, and will again probably. Many flip flop, blame Dems for high prices they didn’t cause, at least this time blamed maga for causing high prices, but that’s coincidence. A lot of people flippantly flip flop, and will blame Dems next time since all the media says they’re in charge, but don’t know they can’t do whatever they want with all the maga obstruction of investigations and such. It also takes longer to build than destroy and most don’t have patience and demand instant gratification, so they’ll flop around.

I hope I’m wrong and they really see the light now and understand it all well, won’t lay false blame on Dems again and that maga is still the same, still toxic and bad policies so no flopping back.

  • He’s right and these policies are shown to work in other places too. Reduce artificial scarcity and related stress and people do better. I hope Dems pass major bills even if orange vetoes them and they can’t get a supermajority, they must try. If only everyone understood how well healthy policies work where they are, even public housing can work when done right, but when it’s sabotaged and underfunded by maga, and done wrong it fails.

Q: If we want public housing to be a successful investment—where units stay in good shape, tenants thrive, and taxpayer dollars are respected—what are the three most critical policies we should implement to prevent the failures of the past (like Pruitt-Igoe) and replicate the successes of places like Vienna or Singapore?
