Ramen was about 20¢/packet back then. Worked out to about 2 packets a day plus just enough for eggs. Was not the healthiest time of my life lol

When I was on snap I got a whopping $17/month because my ssdi income was just barely low enough for me to qualify for snap. It’s insane that people think folks are committing fraud for tiny amounts of food

Carroll said investigators believed the suspect was armed with a shotgun, a handgun and knives. He also said the suspect was believed to have been a guest at the hotel.
It amazes me that there has been four (I think?) close-ish attempts on this man’s life in the last decade, three in the last two years, and things like this still get through.

I think so, too. This is why it’s important to talk about non-combat PTSD. So more people get the help they need, and there’s less stigma around it.

I did mean it in the dragon context, haven’t had my coffee yet xD Thank you for the correction

The article is confusing because it paints him as a “highly respected” ethical hunter and conservationist that hunts under culling licenses, but goes on to say the duiker he was hunting is rare and elusive. Wikipedia lists it as near threatened.
Man had a horde hoard of animal trophies too, so it seems like he just found a loophole to killing and collecting animals in a ‘respectable’ way
Edit: pre-coffee typo :)

I’m a Navy veteran with service connected PTSD. People question if I have PTSD sometimes and it does indeed piss me off, but I’m not out here claiming to have been blown up while serving. People are starting to become aware that PTSD doesn’t always stem from combat, and that awareness will help more people going forward. Mine comes from being attacked and raped by my shipmates, I didn’t expect to survive it.
I don’t feel disgust that USA Today asked him about his service, instead I wonder why he didn’t have a better response. He could have offered education about PTSD or said he wanted to increase transparency around disability ratings in the VA, or any number of things.

Conservative political action conference
Orban was a guest speaker a couple years ago in the US. Seems like he founded the cpac in Hungary afterwards

I don’t disagree. I just find it interesting how strongly the media jumped on their connection but there may be another reason for the professor’s death

It’s interesting that Nuno Loureiro is part of this list. I thought the articles that came out after his death said the (now dead) man who killed him once worked with him. So it seemed personal and not conspiracy-related
I was an AuDHD kid in the 90s. That specific word was thrown at me a lot by both adults and my peers, especially because I lose the ability to speak when I’m stressed/overstimulated. I guess it still hurts when I hear it or read it, and going off this thread that’s a “me” problem. Definitely regret posting my original comment

I don’t understand why this word has come back into common usage

There was an article a few weeks ago where folks were interviewed at a gas station in Pennsylvania. Two of the Trump voters who was fine with the higher prices said it was an acceptable price to pay to keep the nation safe. They really thought Iran was going to attack the US, possibly with nukes.
I have no hope of changing the minds who fervently believe in that crap

I wish I could get her to watch ds9 with me, I imagine Vic Fontaine would be her favorite character though

She believes in aliens too, but not in the sense of little green men. She claims that they are prophets from the old testament that time travel, she always mentioned that passage in Kings with a burning chariot in the sky when she was talking about aliens. She gave me a book about it once, I kind of wish I had held on to it for the laughs.

I’ve mentioned this before, but my grandmother fully believes in Bigfoot, and claims there are sub-species of Sasquatch that she’s personally seen throughout the US. Debunking this movie won’t matter to her, I doubt she’d even consider for a moment that the footage is fake.

Kissing bugs cause chagas, and they do look very similar
Persimmon can be blue, but that picture is edited and over-saturated. They’re darker and have a powder coat, like blueberries. Wouldn’t be surprised if the apple picture was also edited, but they can have pink flesh.
As far as I can tell it’s not yet published. Why on earth would this be reported if it hasn’t made it through the publishing process? Lol
Here is a reaction to the findings that were presented at the conference mentioned in the op article.
