That actually makes a lot of sense, especially combined with the other answers of how some sanctions are trickier implement. Thank you!

It seems like there’s always another sanction package, why didn’t they slap them all on there in the beginning of this whole thing? What’s the benefit of holding some back and letting their economy limp along for a bit?
We built some gas turbines for them at Siemens and trained a few of their people for a new factory we had to build in Riyadh as part of the turbine deal. The individual people we were training were nice enough but it felt like morals just went out the window when the Saudi money showed up.
SLAMMED! Feels like most headlines are written by 12 year olds these days
We subsidize all the wrong things. A McDouble is out of reach for most as a casual snack without subsidies, and arguably it should be out of reach so plant based alternatives have a chance at competing. Same with oil. Should gradually roll back the subsidies so people can have time to switch, but they should still be rolled back.
Same! Haven’t stayed up late reading like that in ages, if ever.

Yeah, but Trump is medically incapable of not posting insane ramblings with more information than necessary anywhere that will let him, which I believe is the point they were making
I sure hope that I, Poop Dick, (1-800-HOT-LIPS, [email protected]) am approved to use this glorious seal
Funny how “fatally shot” takes the sting out of “gunned down” or “killed”.
But I’m 35… According to this I should’ve learned about it 5 years ago, what’s wrong with me? Am I an abomination?
First time I’ve ever heard of the Overton window. Kind of picked it up with context but if anyone feels like doing further reading
I’m sure the supreme court will approach this without bias
