Google search is still pretty good although definitely not what it was in its ad-free heyday. That you would go to the trouble of complaining about it is incomprehensible, given the plethora of credible alternatives.

Step 1. Make an AI that hoovers up content.
Step 2. When owners of content complain about privacy violations and copyright infringement, allay their fears. This AI is for the Good of Humanity.
Step 3. ???
Step 4. Profit.
Is water the best choice for a chemical fire?
Yahoo, the cowboys of journalism.
You are a gigachad that lives in the future.
From the outside it’s not obvious how many variables influence scientific research that have absolutely nothing to do with science or the pursuit of knowledge and truth.
Being scientifically literate is insufficient. We must also be highly sceptical and apply critical thinking to the work of other scientists, particularly when large sums of money are involved and the inevitable conflicts of interest that entails.
People with money are able to fund research but they will never be scientists because they are only interested in what is true to the extent it will make money.
The definition of having a drinking problem is when you drink more than your doctor.
Hit it with a hammer
Chewing coca leaves seems to have a long history that continues to this day. I hear it’s common practice among long distance drivers of the present and it wouldn’t be surprising to find out that this has been the case ever since people made long transits on foot or horseback. Not sure we can call it cocaine though, isn’t that term reserved for the hydrochloride salt form of the drug?
There is a huge overlap between the two conditions. Probably far more behaviours in common than exclusive. We think of them as separate as a matter of convenience e.g. to administer healthcare, etc, but there is no precise scientifically reliable definition for either. It’s like saying someone is white or black, superficially the difference is obvious but when we look closely we cannot define what we mean by those words with universally repeatable measurements.
Microsoft is cancer but then so much of tech is going that way. We shouldn’t lose sight of small victories, this is a good result. The EU is enforcing more openness and transparency in the sector. These are the type of changes we need.
ABS has been an EU legal requirement for at least ten years. It’s not generally marketed as a feature unless it’s part of a safety-stability system e.g. ESP and collision mitigation.
If these control systems are implemented skillfully you won’t know they are present on the vehicle. People think they understand how a car works right up to the point they have to make one and then go back to talking about bicycles.
If no children were involved in the production of porn, how is it pedophilic? That’s like claiming a picture of water has the same properties as water.
What does that say about the laws that are created under a system such as this, do we gamely continue to follow the letter of the law?
It’s the gift that keeps giving. I remember hearing that nickname twenty years ago.
Difficult to feel sorry for an organisation whose only responsibility is to generate profit for their shareholders. If their policy happens to align with normal human ethics it is a coincidence and they will not spare a moment to consider the plight of their customers when the shoe is on the other foot. Fuck them. Long live the pirates.
I guess Americans are still racist AF then.
