Starfields is one of the biggest games of 2023 – but it’s joined other recent games like Baldurs Gate 3 in being boycotted by conservatives because of the way it interacts with gender.

Explain. I’ve played 30 hours and don’t see it.
It’s hard to describe, it’s just that it feels like the diversity is fake while BG3 has an organic and integrated sense of people belonging. In Starfield it’s like they woked it up. You see it in Far Cry 6 as well, like I said. The characters aren’t believable because they’re literally there for tokenism and fake diversity.
I don’t understand “woked it up”.
I guess I can’t explain it to you if you don’t notice how blatant it is.
Start by defining “woke”.
It seems like a lot of the time, the real definition of “woke” is “anything I don’t like.”
Virtue signalling by trying to over compensate diversity in such a way that it comes off as contrived.
Like when the Oscars felt too white so the next year they handed all the awards to black people
Okay… how does the diversity in Starfield or Far Cry 6 feel contrived?
Why aren’t the characters believable? How does that mean they’re just there for forced diversity, instead of just being badly written? If the character was white, with no other changes, would they still be bad characters that aren’t believable?
A specific in game example will do. You did play a bit, right? So it should be near the beginning. A YouTube timestamp or something.
I’m honestly curious about this. All I know about “woke” is when I’m awaken from sleep aka I woke up. I didn’t wake up from cryosleep like I did in Fallout 4.
If it was actually blatant, you would be able to list a number of ways it was “woke”
