Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office is asking an appeals court to stop Harris County’s new guaranteed income program, Uplift Harris, from sending out checks to low-income residents after a judge on Thursday ruled that the program could move forward.
Paxton’s office has challenged the legality of the county’s plan to send $500 monthly payments to around 1,900 low-income households over the course of 18 months, arguing the Uplift Harris program violates the state constitution and requesting a temporary injunction to prevent the county from disbursing the first checks on April 24 as planned.
That dude is evil.
‘Sending money to poor people… wait, what? That can’t be legal…’
Fucking amazing some people’s thought processes.
America never cease to surprise me how evil they are
Not all of America, just about 34%.
