I have no facts to back this up but I think its a false flag from the new president.
Me thinks he wants a heavy handed approach to ELN and this is how he plans to manufacture a war for himself.
Not defendong that asshole, but the guerrillas have been using drone warfare in Colombia for at least 1 year, before the new president came into power.
Right, its been a tool for a while now. The motives may have changed, I’m just spitballing.
True but since we are just speculating, its been predicted that geurillas will be shifting heavily to drone warfare. Started with Myanmar but it was only inevitable that Latin American militia would pick it up too.
True, hopefully its not Ukraine supplying the drones. They’ve gotten very good at it.
Why would Ukraine supply them with drones? What on earth would they benefit from doing that?
Countries are going to act in their own best interests. If it benefits them why wouldn’t they?
Right… so how would Ukraine benefit from supplying groups fighting against Colombia?
They would be conducting business with another party. It would serve their economic interests to supply and train other groups.
Again, I hope they aren’t but they seem to be the dominant power in the drone business. Thankfully they are fucking up Russian forces with it but, the tides of war can change and they (like any nation) could have interests that don’t align with international peace.
I hope I’m wrong with my hunch.
