          I mean it hasn’t really been a gangster simulator since San Andreas. And even then, CJ was never part of a gang during the time you played as him.

              GTA doesn’t really glorify that lifestyle though? At least in 5 it’s made clear that none of the protagonists are particularly happy with their lives even though they’re career criminals. In fact they even get blackmailed by a government agency into doing more illegal shit just so they don’t get disappeared to a black site and never heard from again.

        Well, except GTA 1, both GTA Londons and GTA2

        So, except for half the games.

        Either way this is the current style. I thought GTA2 was a neat cover.

          It’s been the style of cover since GTA3

          So for 3, VC, SA, LCS, VCS, 4, Episodes, and 5.

          That’s about 8-ish games that had this style of cover art. That’s more than half.

            my point was that they LITERALLY have not always used this style, and that’s all.

              I’d also argue that any GTA made before 3 hasn’t been relevant in probably 30 years or so.

              Also, it’s only 4 games before GTA3 and the art style change. Not sure hey you said 5.

              Edit: I also forgot about Advance and Chinatown Wars, which both had the same modern cover.

                Do us both a solid and go look up the box art, I am positive there will be fandom sites dedicated just to this.

                It’s easy, you can count them. It’s 5. Advance had grey box art but included art like the GTA 3.

                5 is more than 0 which is what it would take for literally all of them to be one way.

                Sorry you believe the games that defined the series are irrelevant, that’s irrelevant to the impetus of my statement.
