Democrats: Man, that’s a whole lot of words my corporate donors aren’t paying me to read. Guess I better move more right to capture those moderate Republicans.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Wool of gay sheep passes woke test for New York fashion debutEnglish
18·1 day agoIt’s right fucked that this headline is so diminutive and primed to be the subject of derision, cause this shit is based as hell. “I saved these rams that capitalism decided had no value cause they wouldn’t fuck ewes and use their wool to make pro-LGBT clothing” is fucking amazing.
Historically speaking, shit gets uber fucked before anything gets better. And getting better isn’t a guarantee. It’s why accelerationism is stupid. It just guarantees conflict, and with how completely destroyed the American left is from red scare shit, it’s highly unlikely some sort of more egalitarian state will rise from the ashes from conflict alone.

News@lemmy.world•Judge blocks Trump's elections order in lawsuit by vote-by-mail states Oregon and Washington
9·3 days agoSo, have you heard the “don’t comply in advance” slogan? That means a lot of things, but this is an important facet of it. Don’t cede ground you haven’t lost yet. The fascists need to fight and win that battle before we give it to them, even in our minds. They’re going to ratfuck, but we must fight it at every turn. And celebrate every hindrance to their victory. This is a win, and you win the war by winning these little battles, over and over again.

44·4 days ago“If you can’t see his feet, it looks like the car hit him” - their logic
Yeah, people hit by cars famously keep their footing and are stable enough to accurately discharge a firearm. Meanwhile, he shouldn’t be walking in front of the car, full stop. So yeah, it’s damning but only against his case.

Need a whole lot of this happening.
Russia’s authoritarian playbook (which the current GOP administration is using) isn’t about lying in an articulate way. It’s about flooding the zone with excuses and lies such that the average person will choose to tune it out rather than to engage.

Get the fuck out of here with this shit. No one wants the filth you spew.
You and most everyone around you has unconscious bias against non-white people because of the world you grew up in. So we tip the scale, not against those of higher merit, but against those whose only higher merit is their skin color. Then, once you start seeing a world where everyone contributes and all talents are seen, then we can talk about whether or not the scale tipped too far.
If you’re feeling insecure about your place in the world, join a union or a collective help network. Helping others gives others incentives to help you. It’s like networking, but not purely selfish, so it’s more fun!
