And he’ll vote for them again because he supports them and thinks “they just did it the wrong way”. Dude, this is exactly the way they were always going to do it, but you never listen to the other side because they’re “woke”. And by the time you wake up, it’ll be too late for all of us. Not just the fascist USA, by the way, because corporations and their enablers now have free reign to deny science and avoid action until the rest of humanity is dying in a cataclysmic hellscape. But I’m glad you were able to avoid seeing a couple of people holding hands, I’m glad all this was worth it to you.
Does the bill still have that clause that says judges are no longer allowed to try to limit the executive branch? Because that’s the clause we should be campaigning against.
A slight chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
The weather doesn’t sound that bad.
Just seven of 50 surveyed GOP lawmakers are planning to actually attend the president’s birthday festivities over the weekend, reported Politico. Source
Oh, now that sounds good!
Oh, cool, more people to block, thanks!
I have no idea who Bo Loudon is, and I believe my life is richer for it.
No idea. He entered on an Italian passport (he has dual Italian-Senegalese citizenship, and they referred to him as “Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy” in a press release), so he should have up to 90 days in the US without a problem.
He was on like day 30 of a 90-day visa and was heading to his scheduled flight out of the country. Afaik, they had no reason to pick him up, they just like sitting around in the air conditioning to pick people up at airports and courthouses instead of chasing them across fields or something more exercise-y like that.
Those things that project images on walls and things - be nice if we could project images either in front or behind him, less likely to cause issues with the FAA, more likely to get media coverage.
16 states have proposed or passed legislation that would make ivermectin available over the counter. The intention is to make it much easier for people to get ivermectin and use it for any ailment they believe it can cure. Idaho, Arkansas, and Tennessee have passed laws to make ivermectin available over the counter. On Monday, Louisiana’s state legislature passed a bill to do the same, and it now awaits signing by the governor. The other states that have considered or are considering such bills include: Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and West Virginia.
I think the bigger problem is that there are at least 50 trays of tomatoes there and it’ll take a bunch of kitchen space and time to process all of them, all of which has to be done on next-to-no notice. It’ll also take a lot of time and supplies to can them all - though at least whatever they have the time and space to process will be shelf-stable in the end.
They picked up at least once citizen who had his passport card on him and put him in detention anyway, saying the card was fake. Which is why due process for everyone is important, because otherwise you’d never get the opportunity to prove you’re really a citizen.
Well, that’s a shame … /s

The entire trump administration, including musk, has ties to the Kremlin.
“Harvard’s got to behave themselves,” he told reporters gathered in the Oval Office. “Harvard is treating our country with great disrespect, and all they’re doing is getting in deeper and deeper and deeper.”
Years ago, someone on Tumblr had a comment on respect, which very much applies to Trump and his fascists:
Sometimes people use ‘respect’ to mean “treating someone like a person”, and sometimes they use ‘respect’ to mean “treating someone like an authority”.
And sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say, “If you won’t respect me, I won’t respect you”; and they mean, “If you won’t treat me like an authority, I won’t treat you like a person.”
And they think they’re being fair but they aren’t, and it’s not okay.
Well, I mean, if they came clean on Musk, they’d have to come clean on everyone, and we know how much drugs they did the last time around.
I saw a video of this, and he veers from one side of the street to the other, and then back again - and it looks like he’s deliberately targeting whichever side had more people at that point.
So, face shields are clear shields that cover your face. You’ll see really thin plastic ones in doctors sometimes (they were common during covid), and there are heavier ones for welders and such. Cops often wear them as part of their riot gear get-ups.
Thing is, the medical-type shields aren’t going to very useful during the LA protests, and the higher-grade ones that would be useful are pretty expensive to be just handing out to people. And then you come to this line in the article
So - masks. He was providing some kind of masks to people - surgical, N95, carnival, Halloween - hell, little ballroom masks on sticks or thin cloth Zorro masks. But I’m pretty sure that the prosecutor will decide the charges against him are overstated and drop the charges.
It’s mostly a tactic to get this guy off the streets for a bit because he was prepared more than they liked and was helping other demonstrators potentially hide their faces, and to give anyone else with similar ideas reason to pause before they do it themselves.
