Well, none of the other shutdowns have gone on this long. I’m also struggling to remember any shutdown that’s gone on for any length in an economy this clearly bad and heading further downhill. Nor has there ever been a shutdown where the head of the government has said they won’t be paid in the end for time worked. It makes perfect sense for the ATC’s to prioritize themselves, their families and their finances over a system that consistently and chronically under-values them, over-works and over-stresses them, and has explicitly declared it has no loyalty or concern for the people who work there.

Called my senators yesterday. Told the R we were hurting and they needed to give in to the Democrats. Told the D I knew they were under pressure but we needed them to stand up for Medicaid, food stamps, ACA funds, etc.

Considering that Walmart is one of the largest corporations benefiting from deliberately underpaying their workers and telling them it’s the government’s job to feed them, I find that my field of fucks is barren.

I’m not going to bother looking up DC misdemeanor law, but in many places the judgement of guilt is done by the jury and the assessment of penalty is done by the judge.

I liked the bit where the cop claimed the “attack” left an onion string on his uniform.

So we’ve lost more jobs with tariffs than we did during a fucking global pandemic that sent the entire planet into lockdown? How is that “winning”?!

They’ll just keep at it until it does change. Remember, everyone was frantic and upset the day after January 6 but nowadays it’s all just “peaceful tourists taking a walk”. Repeat a lie long enough and loudly enough - especially with the help of complicit propaganda engines across all types of media - and people will believe and defend that “reality”.

More like all the people there are chronically trying to manage the emotions of an enraged toddler so they don’t accidentally cause a ketchup-flinging incident, so they tell him what they think he wants to hear, only then he tantrums when reality pierces the baby carriage.

I don’t know what else could be more damning than that.

Like their podcast “heroes”, I’m just asking questions here, but:

What if Trump didn’t just rape kids? He had beauty pageants where he admitted to walking in on naked teenagers to “inspect” them. He walked around “interviewing” contestants, asking them about their lives. He himself specifically chose a decent percentage of the finalists - and by claiming those spots for certain chosen people, significantly reduced the chances for other contestants. And there were not only the contestants, but a bunch of wannabe contestant-types on the fringes. And a lot of those contests were held overseas.

So, just asking questions here, but: what if Donald Trump wasn’t just raping kids? What if he was actively involved in recruiting and trafficking them?

I need to call my Senators tomorrow. I have one from each party. I tell the ® how much the shutdown is hurting me and my entire extended family and tell them I want them to end the shutdown even if it means giving the Democrats everything they want. They claim they’re not sure where the money will come from and they didn’t want to break the law by pulling it from an unauthorized fund (despite there being a fund explicitly for this), yet they’ve had absolutely no problem committing multiple illegal acts every. Single. Day. since taking office.
