When you feel like it, start looking up stuff you can do now that you couldn’t before, like customizing your desktop environment (“ricing”). It’s fun, and there are a lot of options out there.

Pop OS was super user friendly for a new user and handled drivers and everything really well for me. I’ve only played some less intense games from my steam library, but I’m not noticing any severe lag. I bet it could handle retro gaming/emulation easily.

People have given you good resources, so I’ll just speak to the second part: I switched a few months ago, and it has been surprisingly easy. I’m just… doing normal computer things like I used to on windows. Even gaming.

Since they’ve said it’s basically an entry level gaming PC that will cost more than a console, I think the >700, <$1000 speculation is most likely.

I used to have a room dedicated to retro games and tech, but since having kids, it’s all been crammed into closets. Once they’re old enough to not break stuff, I plan to get the “museum” out again in some form so that they can enjoy it.
