Privacy@lemmy.ml•Possible to avoid Google's future open source ban on Android devices?
4·17 days agoLooks nice, but I tried this sort of thing with the FXTec Pro, and never received it. After 4 years, they announced the last ones going out, and they apparently “lost” mine. Contacted them and their response was equivalent to a shrug. Next time I buy a product, it’s going to be verifiably on sale publicly.
For clarification, I initially read it to mean that anybody “poor enough” to have to work to earn money does not deserve to live. I.e., rich people are human, everybody else is subhuman.
Your interpretation I saw a few moments later, and that the post was criticizing that phrase. Basically, the polar opposite of my first impression.
You know, when i originally read this, the way i interpreted it was that he was saying that if you need to earn money to live you don’t deserve to live.
I much prefer the version that is an indictment of the phrase “earn a living” as implying you don’t deserve to live if you aren’t “working” in the modern sense of earning money at a modern job vs doing what’s necessary to stay alive like all nature’s critters.
I can agree with that.
Yeah, that’s what I was doing… /s
I guess you’re on board with demonizing people based on the location of their homes. They don’t deserve to be treated like decent humans? You’d spit on them just because they came from America? Interesting.

News@lemmy.world•EPA just approved new ‘forever chemical’ pesticides for use on food
18·21 days agoOf course they did. Trump ended the EPA months ago. Think “invasion of the body snatchers” but for government.
At what point did doing things for yourself become cringe?
Methinks this is what the collapse of civilization looks like.

News@lemmy.world•Unemployment could hit 25% among recent grads and trigger 'unprecedented' social disruption thanks to AI, U.S. senator warns
9·21 days agoWell, it looks like “the Great Reset” wasn’t just a right-wing conspiracy theory against the left. Looks like it was accurate, except it was the right wing who was going to do it.
And how do you react when someone spells it R U S S I A? If that’s hurtful or “propaganda”, check yourself.
I agree Trump is evil. America is not. It is a nation, and because it is run by humans, it does nasty shit just like most others. I hate it, but demonizing a whole population is not helping.

News@lemmy.world•Trump officials say president is plotting new wave of retribution after Epstein bill vote: ‘Democrats are going to come to regret this’
75·25 days agoHypocracy on display. Trump spent 4 years demanding the Democrats release the files, scoring political points on the right. Now it’s projection all over again.
I’m sure there are several people in the Democratic party who were part of this. That does not matter. bad is bad. I don’t care if you otherwise appear to have similar values to me.

17·28 days agoThis is why Democrats must win back at least one house of Congress. Currently, the president is doing exactly what Republicans want.
Don’t let them convince you later otherwise. They have all the power and have no excuse.

4·29 days agoI got a notification on my phone, opened it, and was hit with the privacy practice update. Clicked deny, was hit with a warning my device would be crippled. Port forwarding and other features would no longer work and I would not get feature updates.
I’m getting ready to install the Merlin asuswrt ROM to give them a huge “fuck you” and possibly get access to features I chose not to use due to the data collection they have. Basically, they probably noticed that few activated the honey pot features and chose to just force the surveilance on us all.

I’m probably older than most of you, and I’m not going for the “get off my lawn” answer like the rest of you. Mission center - because graphical user interfaces add value
