You aren’t getting a processor, graphics card, a motherboard, case and that ram for $699 right now, though. That’s my point. It’s more than double the cost, if not maybe even triple right now. Do you actually get double or triple the value then? Touche on the steam savings (you could even argue pirating - not condoning but just saying it’s an option, to get those savings), but are you going to actually close the gap? PC games tend to be more demanding too, plus as a PC gamer I often find games need a lot more time for optimization and need tinkering, whereas with a console they just sort of work. There’s pros and cons to each for sure, but I’m of the opinion that right now I’m more heavily on the side of the console, at least from a $ value perspective.

You might need something to happen in the PC world for this to happen. Right now you are looking at about 5 to 6x the purchase price for a PC vs a console. Not saying I disagree with the sentiment, I get it. But I’m also sick of Nvidia and AMD who are also pretty gross.

I will glance proudly at the TV, knowing my city dodged the biggest economic bullet that we probably ever faced. This was the Olympics that we would have been holding too. While I lament that our current Olympic facilities are decaying, I don’t at the same time think it was responsible to invite this organization (and all the chaos that they bring) back into our city. We can provide the funding for future infrastructure in other and more sustainable ways.

They talk about distracted driving with the screens in modern day cars, but let’s actually talk about you flipping through pages and pages in those darn pouch books trying to find the CD you were after, back in the day. Now that was OG distracted driving.

Probably like 2010, 2011 was my last time? It would have been movies for our dvd player in our bedroom when my (now) wife and I were in University.

I got an iPod Nano for my birthday in the fall of 2005, which brought the burning cd factory that was my computer to a screeching halt. I’d still back up files and stuff using CDs, but it went from like going through a carousel of blanks a month to going through a carousel of blanks in like 3 years, within a very short period of time.

I’m nostalgic for it, but at the same time, I’d be nostalgic for 3.5 seconds if I used one again. People tend to forget how frustrating those devices could be too. I had several iterations of the blackberry, and everyone of them came with a lot of quirks that modern phones just don’t have. Sure, I sort of miss the tactile feel of buttons, but it was also a lot of work punching out long emails on them, and pocket lint did a real number on those things too.

I’m of the opposite opinion. I’m tired of dashboards just absolutely smothered in Technicoloured buttons. I much prefer the touchscreen where everything is centralized. I find it less distracting, personally.

Cars are a very intimate personal thing though, and I understand others frustrations with it. Guess I’m the outlier.

There’s been a few movies where it’s like almost instantly. Sometimes the screeners get leaked, and they tend to be higher quality. Final release quality is usually just before they start coming out for sale on the Google Play/Amazon stores, or when they start playing in the secondary market budget theaters. That was…interesting. I’m Canadian, it’s not my place to comment as it has to do with American internal politics. I will say it was an absolute assault on the senses anyways. I’ve never heard a politician lay claim to so many feats, like I think this guy just claimed he’s gone more than all the presidents combined, solved every war and completely solved the economy.
