Seems to be a fairly standard list - Gungeon and DQ11 are the only surprises to me

I disagree with Ocarina of Time’s hype, I’ve always thought it aged poorly, and wasn’t as impressive at the time as people claim. Closer to Goldeneye than Super Mario 64. I could go on but I’m really just yucking other people’s yum and that’s not very fun.

It is always interesting to see people’s lists, I’ve been thinking about compiling a bunch of these top 10 to top 100 lists into some amalgamation of the internet’s average greatest of all time. And then playing all of the ones I haven’t played before.

I just went looking for something similar after getting into battletech. I know thats too niche for fedi but I was hoping to find a comm for minis/painting/wargaming or similar catchall.

Another big issue with smartphone gaming is platform decay. The stores require you to constantly update or your game gets kicked off. There are tons of great games that have no legit way to play them, and others are completely lost with no backups existing. I have some games on my phone I can’t delete without risking losing access to them altogether.

Meanwhile I can go put rhythmn heaven in my gba and play it right now.

3 4 and 5 are all great without mods, haven’t played the earlier ones

I have low expectations for 6 but I want them to get it out of the pipe so 7 can be good

The second “hexbear is anti trans” comment I’ve seen in this thread

I spent a lot of time on hexbear over the last year because I had never run into tankies before. They are definitely problematic, way too ok with killing humans to achieve goals, and willing to lie to win a debate in an ends justify the means sort of way, but they arent anti trans in any way that I saw. If they are lying about their pro trans stance they are putting a ton of effort into it and theyve succesfully tricked me I guess

Hexbear blocked you for being pro trans? I find that hard to believe.

No? I didn’t forget anything. There were things I liked about cable - but the ads and the not being able to watch what you wanted sucked.

Something like tv channels, but with no ads and you can go pick and watch what you want like you always have sounds great. There’s a reason there are so many tutorials to set up that experience on services like plex or jellyfin.

And you can say we are going to slippery slope ourselves up to $300 but people are getting better at saying no to higher prices, look at game pass or doritos for two recent big examples
