Thanks dude, came way too far to see someone else say this. Surprised it hasn’t been a NYPost article title already. It’s a rag, but they certainly can use clever wordplay in the titles.

My previous car I did 60 months at 0%. They were offering, I knew I’d drive it that long, so why not.
And for a solid five months I had no car loan to pay!

You’re only allowed to like what I like!

I’m not sure I’d phrase it as a celebration, but the media referring to this as a protest is disingenuous at best. The number of videos I’ve seen of dudes shooting guns at the embassy is enough for me to come to my own conclusions about this “protest.”
And if you’re going to shoot at a building filled with American appointed officials, guarded by Marine Security Guards, you’re probably going to die doing so.
Ideally, this all could have been avoided by not starting another war, but here we are.

Teamwork makes the team work.

Group’s hole consent, got it.

I clicked over to their site on the worldwide web and they have a game called Contact. Seems like it’s for nerds, so it’d be right up Lemmy’s collective alley.

Yeah, I can’t stand the game, this bailed it, but I’ve always appreciated their stances, because I agree with them of course. But like you, when someone says hey let’s play cards against humanity, I say let’s not. I can make jokes about people’s races and cancer without the cards, don’t need everyone cramping my style.
The Seaward was just one of so many good jokes in AD seasons 1-3.

So it says you need to make 400k for childcare to be doable. It presumably takes into account the cost of childcare, in addition to other factors.
That being said, I knew folks who quit working to avoid paying for childcare, but it was mainly because spending 30k on childcare when your takehome pay is 35k seemed pointless. I’m not sure I agree with that, though I understand the thought process.

Yeah, my vinyl collection is a decoration. The 20TB of storage connected to my PC is where the magic happens.

He’s the US director of the FBI. He just shows up and they let him in. What’re they going to do say no? They just let him in, do the photo op, and that’s that. None of them are thinking about it. Half the dudes on the team probably don’t even know who he is. Hockey players are so insulated, that’s why the young guys always do the worst interviews, their entire life has been hockey, and that’s it.

You can’t wear cages in the NHL unless you have an injury.

I used to smoke a lot of weed in high school and after for a bit. One day, the panic set in. It wasn’t always, but the frequency definitely increased slowly, until eventually the risk of having a panic sesh became too much for me to be able to enjoy smoking.
Kind of unrelated and in the middle of all this, I remember talking to my old man, and he had lived a similar life to the one I was, at the time, currently leaving. He smoked a bunch of weed until, one day, couldn’t do it any longer because of the panicks.
So I definitely anecodotally agree with the ineritableness, and I certainly agree and am an example of the idea that cannabis can bring out symptoms similar to schizophrenic episodes. And they are so far from my norm that I really can’t attribute it to anything but the pots.
I’ve always felt that mental disorders can be like a switch, you flip it and it turns on, kinda. And the flipping can be the result of something external, life events, trauma, and drug and alcohol use. I had a friend who I smoked with often as a kid who eventually kinda disappeared into a world of mental issues, and I wonder if it would’ve been the same had he not smoked.

Yeah, my 8-year-old has the chrome book, but also gets physical homework, paper and pencil. Dunno how it’ll be as she gets older, but I like how it is so far.
I was thinking about trying to find Mavis Beacon and somehow getting it to function on Windows 11. No idea if there’s compatible versions. But I used Mavis Beacon all the time growing up and enjoyed the games, made learning to type (properly) fun.

Right? I’ve seen plenty of people who don’t know how to swing a hammer.

The laptops should be a tool, in addition to other tools. Being well rounded is the best thing you can be.
The US’s issue in wars has consistently been “what next?” They are good at getting troops to battlegrounds and securing battlegrounds. They are logistically superior to everyone. The problem becomes the hanging around afterward. And it’s obvious we’re headed there again, considering the administration has all but stated they don’t know what the endgame is.
