  • It’s nice of them to list their qualifications and the subject in which they earned a Nobel Prize. It makes it so much easier to Trumpistan to disregard them as “mainstream” and part of the commie woke academy.

If Trump or any of his lackeys respected the opinions of experts or the power of education, this letter would not need to have been written in the first place, because RFK would have been catapulted over the wall of the nearest insane asylum the second he opened his mouth. And besides, since when has Trump ever changed his views or his plans because smart people have told him not to go through with whatever dangerous bullshit it happens to be? His own team is unable to rein him most of the time, and he chose those people.

  • The replies on Twitter to Musk’s legal team complaining about this decision are equal parts hilarious and day-ruining. People are really cheering for this man to get ~55 billion dollars. Like, it hurts their actual feelings that he’s been denied such a payment, and they offer words of support to Musk like he’s doing a life sentence and has been denied DNA testing that would prove his innocence by a capricious judge who built her political career on the initial murder trial.

I hope they’re just bots. Bots expertly-programmed to annoy me specifically.

I’ve heard this debunk a lot over the years, and I don’t disbelieve it, but is it not the case that one or two animals (wolves or otherwise) in a group will be the “bosses” or something close to being dominant over the others? Is all of that internal power struggling we see in groups/families of animals not really what it seems? Or is the “alpha” stuff different from that? Or does it only apply to wolves, and “alphas” do exist in other animal species?

    Yours, confused and uneducated,

  • It’s hilarious that this warped little creep has arranged things such that he has a credible excuse to sit and listen to trans women pinching off loaves from the next cubicle, all while he’s reporting his porn usage to his son via his iChrist app. He’s definitely someone we want making policy around genitalia.

  • I’m sure this totally unprecedented plan is nothing to worry about. It’s not as though history is replete with similar plans that went awry.

I’m sure that, once concentrated into this one location, the people being deported will be safe and sound and free of disease and well-fed. And when no country agrees to take them in, I’m sure they’ll just continue to be well-cared for in the encampment and there won’t be any problem and certainly there won’t be any spurious stories of riots or uprisings that need to be put down and which sadly result in the killing of pretty much all of the immigrants being held there. It will be fine. This is all fine and very, very normal.

  • It’s the path of least resistance to achieve Musklessness. The second two of the positives you listed are actually negatives to the average Joe. Choice paralysis, overwhelming number of apps and servers, these are things that put people off even trying, especially if there are easier-to-use alternatives that are familiar and instant.

Mastodon is great, but it’s not quite there yet in terms of convenience. Too much copying and pasting and clicking through to different instances in order to read old posts etc. It needs to be more cohesive in a way that doesn’t require constantly leaving your timeline or going into the settings.

It’s also the case that the Twitter diaspora who are famous tend to choose BlueSky, and that brings a lot of people along with them.

And it’s also the case that Mastodon doesn’t have much of a marketing campaign outside of word-of-mouth, whereas BlueSky does.

  • I guess people really do want fascism. We talk about it like it’s an obviously-awful thing, but apparently most Americans disagree. Most people around the world seem to disagree, in fact. We laugh about the idiots voting for Trump, but far right lunatics are gaining positions of power all over the planet. It’s not just Fox News-fed Americans.

It feels like we’re building up to something catastrophic.

  • Had he made these jokes anywhere else - like on stage at a dive bar, like normal - I wouldn’t care. But he did this set at a MAGA rally. Whether or not he was “just joking” is completely irrelevant. If I teleport back to 1933, speak at a Hitler rally and make jokes about Jews liking money, it doesn’t matter what my heart contains or if I have Jewish friends or enjoy Jewish cuisine or if I don’t have an anti-Semitic bone in my body. This is a package deal, not an individual comic’s shitty set.

Either Tony is a genuine scumbag racist MAGA cunt, or he’s just a stupid, thoughtless, imbecilic cretin who hasn’t got the willpower to turn down a stage of this magnitude regardless of the ramifications. Maybe a little of both. In either case, he’s a tedious tone-deaf dickhead.

We grew up watching those dudes get butchered in increasingly-grotesque ways by a diverse conglomeration of psychotic murderers and animals, both natural and supernatural.

I’m good with my plain black t-shirt that’s long enough to serve as a dress because I’m fat and need uberlength shirts to make it over the curvature of my Moo Deng pregnancy and still have enough fabric left over to not leave me looking like I’m wearing a cummerbund made from pale hairy human skin.

Fat guy dress > being split vertically, starting at the willy, by an industrial saw because I unknowingly spent a summer afternoon in a swimming hole that once hosted a cruel gang of teenagers who pretended to befriend a lonely man with a deformity and subsequently caused him to drown in it by shoving him off the rocks into the water even though they knew he couldn’t swim.
