In light of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) verdict, Denmark on Saturday called for the end of all Israeli military operations in the city of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, state media outlet DR said.”I look at the ruling that has been made with extreme seriousness, and I hope that it is also a seriousness that descends in Israel,” Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said, Anadolu Agency reports.
“There is now the international community’s legal assessment of this situation, and it matches the political assessment that the Danish government has also had for a long time – namely that we must have a cease-fire, not a land offensive,” he added.
Lars Løkke Rasmussen is a right-wing politician who used to be a leader of the “Left” party (that is actually liberal, right-wing). Then he started a party called “the Moderates” and the party was elected to Parliament again. The social-democrats went into the coalition with him and the Prime Minister made him the foreign minister.
Here’s a picture of him, he’s the one holding the AK:
Picture was taken in Afghanistan, in 1988, when the Taliban were fighting the Soviets.
Great introduction to this idiotas.
“moderate” yea right lmao, you were literally the leader of Venstre.
Also fuck A for making coalition with Venstre and Moderaterne DESPITE the left holding a majority. Proving the “social-democracy is objectively the moderate wing of fascism” right.
Danish “social democrats” have been right-wing for a while. Their foreign policy is a copy of the Danish People’s Party, the far right. What’s up with Danes using leftish sounding names for right wing parties?
Venstre is a party from the 1800, back then they really were the left: (Classical) Liberalism. And they just continued to be Liberals, landing them on the right today.
Socialdemokratiet (A) implemented a lot of the Danish welfare system under Stauning in the '30s. But they are standard SDs, continuously retreating (as… Stalin said?[1]) and thereby landing them on the right.
Something about the parties that are not advancing (ideologically) are retreating ↩︎
I’m gonna make a blanket statement: all current “social-democratic” parties in Europe are liberal, especially those in power.
